Confusing vibes?

Was on a trip in the summer and met a guy who flirted with and hung out with me on he trip. He would act shy when I was around, he was also ten years older than me. He got my number then after the trip didn’t hear from him. Some time later he did text me out of the blue, and I carried a conversation with him and by the end of the conversation he was like talk soon! Never heard from him again. Not that it’s a huge deal, just odd.
