Why won't a guy talk about his ex?

me and this guy im seeing talk about my ex 24/7. he rarely brings up his ex unless he has too. The only thing he revealed were they were together for three years and she got pregnant by another guy. I dont know how she looks her name or what exactly happened. But he knows all of that about my ex.
