Why does my male friend rub his new girlfriend in my face?

He used to flirt and tease me a lot and he still stares at me even in front of her. He chose her however. But he is over the top when I’m there as to the PDAs with her and he has said things like “my dating Sarah is a white lie” and winked at me when we were discussing the subject of the moral justifications for lies which I felt was unkind given that he knows or has known that I have a soft spot for him. I have distanced myself from him socially and I don’t want to be around them and have cancelled plans where I might see them both. He added his girlfriend to a groupchat we’re both in seconds after replying to me with a provocative sentence ie ‘Do you believe in life after love?’I replied and then he added her. It all feels like a game. Why is he doing this? It isn’t fair. I just want to move on and he still sends signals and rubs her in my face..

It's a game to him maybe he wanted you and you didn't want him or maybe he wants you to give him attention and pursue him... Bottom line is it's no good and if you get a boyfriend, then he loses this game. Also you shouldn't let a friend play these jealousy games

Not really a bestie. I went on a date with him last year. He feels I rejected him in how I handled the whole situation. But why would he want to make me jealous?
