Why do some men hug so aggressively?

Just the other day, I was on my way home from a friends house and he hugged me super tight and grabbed my ass and squeezed it but we’re not together? Should I say something?

Yes, you should absolutely say something. Now... what we're talking about here, isn't as much the aggressiveness of the hug, as the fact that he was inappropriate in trying to touch your ass I'm guessing?

Doesn't really matter actually. Include the aggressiveness of the hug in there too if that's something that bothered you.

What it comes down to is this: You have a male friend who just did something that crossed a boundary for you. He did something, which, to you, is not appropriate or ok. Any guy friend who tries to grab your ass is only doing it BECAUSE he thinks you're ok with it (unless the dude's not actually a friend).

As a guy who hugs aggressively, and has squeezed many a female-friends ass over the years. You should 100% tell him.

There are two reasons for this. First of all. You need to say something so that he never does that again thinking it's ok. Second of all, he would feel awful if he had any idea how he made you feel (again, unless he's not a real friend). Give him a chance to apologize to you. He is sorry. Or would be. He is just unaware that he has wronged you.

But definitely say something. For sure. Definitely.

I saw your comments where you said you didn't know how you felt about it, but also if he did it again you'd slap him. It sounds like maybe you liked the guy in a romantic way on some level, but he offended you because he touched you like that unexpectedly and without consent. Maybe he thought you were being flirtatious with him and liked him in that way, so it was okay.

Regardless, I would never grab a woman's ass without being completely certain it was a welcome advance. That is absolutely disrespectful and inconsiderate behavior. That's not the mentality you want from people you're around, much less from someone you're in a relationship with. Considering that it made you feel very uncomfortable at minimum you should definitely say something, if for no other reason than to let him know not to do it again. Hopefully he will have the compassion and decency to offer you a sincere apology.

Ok.. so squeezing the butt etc is creepy and intentional of course.

Other than that, we do have a natural tendancy to hug other guys very tight if they are good friends. There is a difference between a guy/girl hug and a guy/guy hug, but I am only talking about the tight clasp.

Being in South Florida,! here ia a lot of hugging that goes on at work. Its almost like a culture shock if you come from America. First i had to hold back my hugs as my wife does not like to get hugged by random guys. So it seem disrespectful to her that i make use of all the opportunities to hug other women.

But sometimes, it becomes unavoidable. And i noticed that i end up hugging them kind of tight. I always realized it later. Perhaps sometimes the warmth with which the woman hugs you makes you hug a bit warmer. And warmer translates to toghter.

But how YOU described, it sounds creepy. If you dont like it, you have to give the "keep your hands off" call.

It sounds like he went a bit overboard. Is he your age and maybe "new" to touching or hugging? He should not have grabbed your ass. It is your body and he has no right to do that unless you say it is ok to do so. I would say something to him so he can maybe learn from it. Hopefully he did not have a boner when he did that?
