What do men prefer: when girls wear makeup or when they wear no makeup?

Most guys don't mind a bit of makeup if you feel you need it, but generally, less is more. If you do use makeup, most men prefer as natural a look as possible. Crazy eyeshadow colors, drawn on eyebrows, Egyptian cat eyes, etc. are not what guys are looking for, at least, not for serious relationships. Those crazier, high-maintenance looks cause men to categorize the women wearing it as "for recreational use only" - such women are rarely taken seriously as a relationship partner, though clearly many of them don't realize this.

Obviously there are exceptions - stage makeup, CosPlays, or other special occasions may call for more outlandish makeup, but I'm talking about "everyday" usage. And, yes, a small percentage of men really like those wild styles, but the vast majority prefer a natural look - either no makeup or relatively little, natural-styled makeup.

That definitely depends on the girl. Some girls can go without makup no problem. For others, makeup does genuinely improve their appearance. I think in general, guys prefer "minimal" makeup. Or at least "well-done, natural looking makeup." If you were to make me choose, I would choose "no makeup." But really, you should just do whichever you are personally most comfortable with. Don't worry about what "guys" prefer. Whichever way YOU feel makes you appear at your best... WILL make you appear at your best (usually). So go with your instincts. They'll be correct on this. 🙂

They think they prefer none 😂 tbh tho most men can’t tell when a woman is wearing makeup. I can have a heavy full face of it and my fiancé will be debating with himself if I have any on at all wondering solely on if the bright red lipstick is my normal color or not.

I prefer when they do whatever they want, and when they can do so without getting judged for their choices. Natural faces can be totally beautiful. Makeup is an awesome invention to play with your appearance and express yourself. If I fall for someone with makeup I will love them without, and the other way round. Sometimes makeup is what you need to feel confident enough to go out? Sounds great! Sometimes you don't feel like wearing makeup because it takes too much work to put it on and to take it off? Also sounds great! Botched makeup? Well, lol, maybe it will be better next time! And so on, you get me.

I prefer none. I'd rather see who I'm looking at but, if she's already my girlfriend and wants to wear some, that's okay, I guess. Otherwise, I'd rather that, if she wears any at all, it's just lipstick (MAYBE), a little rouge/blush and maybe eyeliner. Let's face it, make-up is supposed to make you look better than you already do! If a guy wore make-up and looked quite attractive and then, before crawling into bed with him, he washed it all off to reveal his true looks and you found him to be a hideous, distorted gargoyle, would you still be enamoured with him?

I prefer no make-up for women I'm in a relationship with. It's less effort, I'm going to see her like that every morning anyway, and make-up doesn't turn me on.

For all other women it's irrelevant. Even if I'm sleeping with someone, if I'm not in a relationship, it simply isn't my business.

I prefer them not to. If they do wear it, it needs to be worn lightly. I had rather date a girl that is a 5 out of 10 or below, without makeup, than I would a 5 out of 10 or above with heavy applications. False advertising. To me, natural beauty is best. Even if it is just her inner beauty that has my heart.

Young guys prefer pretty girls. Typically, they don't like heavy makeup. However, they don't care whether a girl has light or no makeup. Either that or they don't know the difference. After all, it is not something they think about.

For me growing up I always liked women w out makeup. I liked a girl who was naturally beautiful who would wear very little makeup. Maybe something to highlight her eyes that to me were already beautiful. I don’t want a girl who I’m going to bed w who looks young, only to wake up to someone who you don’t even recognize. I’m ok w growing old w her, seeing her as we age together. But to me makeup in small amounts make her best assets stand out even more.

I think makeup can look good sometimes, assuming it doesn't look excessive. I don't think it's as simple as "we do" or "we don't".

That said, I think makeup is also silly, and I'd prefer that she be comfortable with herself first and foremost.

That's not the easy question you think. For the most part, men prefer none but women never ever believe this, so we have to put that aside. You won't believe it no matter how many men say it so we just have to move on.

About the only thing you might believe is that less is more effective than more. More make-up is easier to apply badly, smacks of deception and reminds the guy of a clown.

So maybe you believe that. But probably not.

I like it better when girls/women wear makeup but I like it when a girl/woman looks like herself. I’m still attracted to girls/women that are pretty don’t get me wrong.
However, it’s also important for a girl/woman to decide for herself. Some men prefer makeup while others don’t.

Here's the thing. There is a trend of fakeness among women today and most guys are very turned off by fakeness. Many will say they prefer no makeup, but that's not really true, even if they don't realize it. We prefer light makeup that looks like no makeup.
