I have a guy friend who mentions “we should hang” so i try to make plans ahead for us. I noticed a few times before and now once again, I followed up with him the night before “hey are you okay with this place? And let me know what time you are off work.”
I ask this because i am working as well and need to plan ahead with my schedule. But he tends to reply very last minute past 5pm or around 6pm which is the time most workers start driving and go home.
Why do guys (and i am aware girls as well) act like this? Does he not know I also have a life and a simple “sure” or “sorry lets cancel” doesn’t take that much energy?

It's possible that your friend is simply not good at planning ahead or managing his time, and may not be aware of the impact his last-minute responses are having on you. He may also be busy or distracted with other things, and may not be prioritizing your plans as much as you are.
Alternatively, he may be intentionally avoiding making concrete plans, either because he's not sure if he's interested in hanging out or because he's trying to keep his options open. This can be frustrating and confusing, especially if you're trying to plan ahead and make the most of your time.
Regardless of his intentions, it's important to communicate your needs and boundaries clearly to him. Let him know that you need a bit more notice when making plans, and that his last-minute responses are making it difficult for you to plan your own schedule. If he's not able to meet your needs or prioritize your friendship, it may be time to reevaluate the relationship and focus on building connections with people who are more reliable and considerate.
Who said he wants to cancel?
I know, but it’s annoying he follows up very last minute without telling me in advanced
You don't want him to follow up? I don't get what the problem is.
Because i asked him the day before “let me know if this place ok and time.”
But he would randomly text me after 5pm on the day we decided to meet. I’m just frustrated why he couldn’t text me at least 2 hours before in advanced so i can wrap up my work or, not drive home
Did you talk to him about it?
