Why is he postponing everything?

My long distance American boyfriend of three years keeps telling me he’s going to get his visa and book his flights to Australia, then he says things like he’ll do it late October. October passes. Then he said he’d do it last night. Today he said he’s half done it and he’ll tell me when he’s finished the visa application. It just seems to me that he doesn’t really want to see me and he prefers the idea to the reality of having a life partner.

I went to live with my uncle when I was 13 after my parents were jailed. He was 40. Within six months we were having a sexual relationship. So he died when I turned 20, something fell on him at work. Nobody knew of our love. I know what he did was wrong and that he stole my childhood from me but I miss him and no man compares to him. Worse thing is I can't talk to anyone about it.
