I caught my crush talking about me. What does it mean?

I am totally head over heels in love with this guy at work. I think he feels the same way, because for years now, he has been showing all the signs, but he is very shy (plus I was involved with someone else..very complicated). Anyway, we recently started talking more (texting, talking on Facebook, talking more in person, ect...). So I really thought he was into me. He is always very sweet to me. He also told me in a text that he really thinks I am hot and would go out with me.

But the other day I was walking down the hall at work, and I heard him and his good buddy talking and laughing (they didn't see me coming) but I didn't hear what they were saying. As I got closer, his friend peered out the door and saw me, and I heard him say "here she comes". Well, they both booked right out of the room away from me, and the guy I liked looked embarrassed and wouldn't look at me. He has kinda been ignoring me too ever since he admitted he likes me.

I have been really upset about this incident. I keep thinking they were making fun of me (hence, the laughter) and that this guy is really just playing me for a fool, and they are having a good old time laughing about me behind my back. Does anyone have any idea what they could have been talking about? I know it had to be about me, because I heard the friend say "here she comes". This is just bumming me out so bad, and I can't ask him, because I am afraid if he IS playing me, that he will lie anyway. Any thoughts?

He may like you, but guys do act dumb with their mates when they know they like someone- they take pleasure in seeing their mate squirm in front of a woman- its an ego thing. I wouldn't worry about it too much. I would say though, if he and his mates are acting this way now, at work, where both yours and his reputations are at stake, then it maybe best you don't get involved with him. If it ends badly you'll be the subject of office gossip which would make you feel worse than you do now. Having a romantic involvement with a co-worker requires some maturity and discreetness and it sounds like he is unable to maintain either.

you are so right about the office gossip thing. That is why I took a long time to trust him (and I do) to make sure no one knows what we talk about. Like I said above though, I think he does talk to his friend, because he trusts him. Maybe if only telling him he likes me. I am "hoping" his friend was just teasing him about me, and they ran out of the room red faced when I "caught" them talking about. But hopefully it was good and not mean. T/Y for your reply!

That is a possibility, but there's also a chance he was talking about things he likes about you. Or maybe that you weren't even the central subject of the conversation; maybe they talked about you earlier on and they wanted to give you a moment alone with him? It's kind of hard to tell if you don't have specifics. Sorry.

thank you for the reply. I do know that this thing we have (whatever you want to call it) is really secret and private. we promised each other that we wouldn't share how we feel with anyone. Although, I do think this friend of his knows something (I am sure he confided in him; even if he only told him how he feels about me) because his friend has started acting really strange around me. I did ask a guy friend about this, and he told me that being guys they were probably talking about me sexually:)
