Maybe and maybe not. All depends on how he is going about it.

I mean if he likes it when you do it a certain way then there is nothing wrong with him saying that, prefers it this way or that way.

Now if you do it the way you like it and he makes mean comments then yes, that's not appropriate behavior, and it could be or turn into other forms of emotional or mental abuse, with the intent to control you.

Best way to sort it out is to tell him that you do not like the things he is saying that you like your hair the way you do it... and if he is a good guy, he will accept that and stop pressuring you. But over time if he does not change his pattern of behavior and he persists then more than likely he is a toxic person.

Seriously... its same answer for anything you can come up with just replace hair for anything you want. Its the same thing. At some point if like more then one or two things, then you got to ask yourself WTF? Does this even know me at all... why the hell does even want to date me.
