Husband always criticizes how I look saying one thing then changing what he says causing me confusion?

Why does my husband say he likes women and myself without makeup better but then the next day he acts like I'm ugly without makeup he always criticizes how I look one minute it's oh you're beautiful with no makeup and messy hair like that you look sexy the next it's do you not brush your hair mind you I do just my hair looks like crap regardless of what I do with it it's just frizzy 90 percent of time he doesn't approve of what I wear half the time saying my clothes are ugly he asked me today do you not wear makeup anymore and he said sometimes I look good with makeup sometimes without but why does he have to constantly make me feel like crap about myself like I dont freaking nag him to brush his hair mind u it's long and curly like mine all he does is tie It back and throw on a hat he doesn't wear nice clothes like he used to and Ifeel like he's just playing mind games or something with me now maybe he just wants me to fix up more when we go out cause that's how he acts when we are in town etc but like make up on everytime we go out and straighten my hair or else it looks bad regardless of what I do half the time like that's a bit excessive to me I don't know I'm just tired of feeling like I'm never good enough for him all the time
