I think some people that appear to be looking for sympathy are truly just looking for empathy.

The search for empathy is the search for someone that will not do the hurtful things others have done.

Sympathy? No I think most guy know not expect sympathy. Guys just want to be appreciated, but anyone playing off of your sympathy has probably got hidden motives.

In my experience most guys who want sympathy use it to manipulate. Most guys don't seek sympathy. That's not to say we don't enjoy it when it is organic, but a guy seeking sympathy is a red flag.

Cause he actually thinks you care about him or looks at you as companion. But I guess it doesn't matter cause you don't want to give him a shoulder to cry despite the fact he would do that for you.

  they don't. feminist propaganda loves to advertise women as being more sympathetic/empathetic and men being less sympathetic/empathetic so when a guy is having difficulties, he avoids men and goes to women only to learn his lesson the hard way
