Guys, so guys how much money in today's economy do you think you need to be able to support a wife & 1 or 2 children without struggling to make do?

I am not talking about living lavishly.

I am talking about how much money do you think you need in today's economy to support 1 or 2 kids & a wife without struggling to make do / pay bills / pay rent. Bluntly put the kids don't have to give up playing on a sports team because you don't have the money for rent.

That greatly depends on where you live.

Assuming the US, there are parts of the country where you could be comfortably middle class, and support a family, with an income of under $50k/year.

There are other places in the country where you could struggle to support yourself with anything less than $100k/year, to say nothing of a family.

Depends where you live. If you can buy a house for 80k that's very different than a down payment being 200k
