Like I’m always fluffy and affectionate with my texts but every guy I’ve been with it’s always a simple basic text or reply. Like cool. Ok. Morning etc. Why arnt guys more affectionate and fluffy with their texts?
Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yProbably has to do w hormones as far as how emotional a majority of women are compared to men. Men just want the facts of it. Like Bob hit me, I hit him. Cops came, they took Bob to jail. Women will include everything. Well I was already having a bad day, I was on my period. My boss “yelled” at me earlier. Then my cat started to have problems. My boyfriend didn’t respond to my message in 1 minute. That’s why I’m crying right now. Texting is boring. There’s no context behind the message as far as whether someone is mad, angry, happy, etc. Plus I’m usually just I don’t sit around like a lot of women waiting for him to text like it’s her lifeline.

Anonymous(45 Plus)+1 yI do 'fluffy' texting and would suggest that it is nothing to do with genitals and more about emotional intelligence or similar.
Though some men may feel embarrassed? Like it's not a macho, manly thing to do?
Ultimately I don't really know, I don't have enough data.

+1 yThere is one basic difference between men and women... when they tell a story.
Women provide all the excruciating little details, and take forever to tell a simple story.
Men, on the other hand, only mention the high points.
My SO once told our friends about a trip we went on. It took her 45 minutes to cover the entire trip. A few days later, we were with another group of friends and I told the same story in 5 minutes.

+1 yTakes less time to say it in person/on the phone in a way we can actually bond. I'm not going to spend hours texting you a conversation I could say in 15 minutes. I have other things to do and there are large parts of the day I don't even carry a phone.
20 Reply 1.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Because texting is tedious and can be annoying. It's like trying to have a conversation via telegraph.
I'm kinda disinterested in people who want to stay in constant contact via text but are timid about talking on the phone. I would rather they save their thoughts until we can have a conversation.
Texting is handy for short questions and answers like "What time are you getting off work tonight?" Or "Does spaghetti sound good for dinner?"10 Reply
+1 yWhen my wife and I started using cell phones, around 2005 (?) my wife didn't understand why my messages were so dry and functional. An SMS is what it is: a short functional message, and not a letter or missive. She thought I was in a bad temper, but ultimately understood this had nothing to do with how I felt about her. Meaning your question is excellent ;0)

+1 yI'm a dry texter because I've had so many situations where my more creative texts were poorly received and/or misinterpreted. It happened enough times that I just started texting like whatever I was going to say would end up on the front page of a newspaper.

u +1 yTexting is a horrible way of carrying on a conversation that has any meaning. "Can you pick up a gallon of milk on your way home?" is fine. "I think I'm really falling for you. Are you ready to date exclusively?" is something that should be discussed in person.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yHonestly texting women feels like navigating lands mines on Arrakis. I feel like the slightest message can turn them off so I just use texting to make plans. Maybe after I'm dating for a while I feel safer to be more colorful in my texts cause she knows me a bit better and she's less likely to mistake my words for something else. Although the older I get the less tolerance I have for being left on read or seen. It just feels manipulative so I just stop pursuing that girl,

"Navigating landmines on Arrakis"
THAT says it ALL for me!🤣
+1 yUs guys don’t really like texting to be honest we are more engaged and more interactive if we talk to you on the phone, maybe face time, or actually face to face. Also all men are a simple gender.

I'm ND. To quote another, emotions are like "navigating landmines on Arrakis" for me. I take longtime to process, so simple answers avoid "landmines"!

It seems rude to not use emojis and be too direct/simple..
But this is only while chatting with SO00 Reply1.1K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Not all guys are like him but generally guys are more “matter of fact” and just focus on the issue.

Opinion Owner+1 ythis reminded me of my boyfriend, he told me to download Telegram, i said for what? we already have other places to talk, and he said "but it has cool stickers" and then i got telegram and he sends me super cute stickers like animated hugging or a horny dog moving lol. at first i thought it was weird why would he want to send me stickers we are not teenagers lol but then it's fun and cute and sweet and can show emotions if you're not face to face instead of just these little yellow little emojis that don't move.
