So I hung out with a guy the entire weekend and it was magical. When he dropped me off at the subway station he hugged me and said I should take care of myself. No kiss or anything. Was that a friendzone?

That doesn't mean much at this point. He may have not wanted to push it too much if this was your first time hanging out or even relatively new. He doesn't want to be too forward too soon and scare you off would be my guess. Have you had any communication with him since and how did that go? Why not text or call and see how things go? That's what I would be doing. If he doesn't respond or it doesn't go well then maybe you're right but I wouldn't base everything just on what happened at the station.
