Am I overthinking this?

I was seeing a guy exclusively for 5 weeks, [I am 30, he is 31] and we just cut it off because it was just feeling weird, I didn't like his lack of communication and emotional intelligence. we say we will stay friends, he still wants to hangout with just me at times too... but what caught me off guard is that he messaged me this AM even tho we didn't talk much, and we talked about stuff and I was like I still enjoyed hanging out with you. he said he enjoyed hanging out with me too, and that he was looking forward to continuing to spend time with me.

that Is what caught me off guard. that doesn't sound like something a 'friend' has ever said to me.

Girl, don't overthink it! Boys can be so confusing sometimes. Here's what I think:

- Just cuz y'all cut it off romantically doesn't mean he didn't enjoy your company and your vibe together.

- He prob still thinks you're cool and fun to chill with even if the intimate stuff ain't happening anymore.

- Some dudes just don't express themselves the best, ya feel? Might not have meant anything deep by saying he's lookin forward to hanging.

- As long as he respects you keeping it friendly, I wouldn't read too much into one little comment. Y'all said you'd stay pals.

- If he starts acting all flirty again or trying to pull something, then you'll know he's trippin. But for now just take it chill.
