Okay so what are you asking then? That is great that he is a quick texter. A lot of guys aren't from what I have noticed. Most of the guy friends I have take forever. So count yourself lucky that you get quick replies. As far as him not initiating them what does that matter. Maybe he just doesn't have much to ask or say and waits for you to start a conversation about what you want. I wouldn't overthink this too much. If he replies quickly then he is obviously interested in talking to you or he just wouldn't at all.
