Because he is desperate and had no better options. Seriously, don't let these other guys fool you. If there was another woman out there that was interested in him, we would be working on that instead of chipping away at you for months.

Then there are these types that will keep talking to you on the side for months, while explores other possibilities. And if he someone you are unsure about, then he will keep talks going, until you come around... because he might be banging this other chick right now, but it would be over in few weeks and then maybe by then he might come back and focus more on you.

Then there is the last type of guy... he is the one that focuses on you, because you are the only one giving him any response. And since he has no real game, he just goes all in on trying to earn your attention. Now these types might be the best types out there for you in many ways, but you might see them as boring or to needy.

In my personal experience, I do a lot of online dating and have gotten myself in to these situations from time to time... where you start talking to three women at one time... one really seems to want to drag her feet and "take her time."... but other two are more willing to meet and go out with you sooner. So, you keep talking to the feet dragger, while have and fling or two with other woman, and when that does not pan out... oh yeah, there is still these feet dragger that you been talking to, and she is still texting... and now it's been a month or two... so you start putting more effort into that.

This why most experts will tell you two to three weeks, if you are not going out together or have not even been on date together or even meet in person within three weeks... move on, stop wasting your time.

I live by this advice honestly, when I first started online dating, I had learned this lesson time and time again much frustration.

So, to answer your question, why would guy spend months trying to seduce a girl?

Answer: He's a player, or he has not learned all things he needs to learn about dating women. And that is it's not about what women want, or how to make them want it. Women know when they know, but up until that point... focus on what you really want and then find someone that wants the same things.

Because he has patience, to whom many are lacking these days ( talking about both sexes). He wants to see what makes that girl Tick, what triggers her good and bad mood, so for him to know which puttons to press and which ones to not. I could say he is a meticulous guy.
You see one thing just came in to my mind... If we try to seduce a woman straight away, always they get freaked out, and thinking..."he just wants to get in my panties". If we take the time to analyse then..."what is he waiting for? Christmas? Ti'll i'm 60's"...

I personally would just considerate it poor chemistry if it was taking that long, because if 2 people are super compatible, it shouldn’t take as much effort to attract each other.
