Don't read into vague general questions or statements. He may be looking for someone to help him move this weekend. Considerate people will inform you as to what it is all about before asking you to commit to anything. He is the only one who knows what his question means, so asking strangers what he's thinking won't help you move forward.

If you want to go out with him, you can answer "just looking forward to finding someone special to spend some time with."

It might mean that. It might also mean that he is just making conversation. I have guy friends at school that ask what I'm up to on the weekend. They know I am in a relationship so it means nothing other than making convo. That doesn't mean that is what this guy is doing. He very well may wanna know if you have plans and if you don't might ask you to do something. Some context of the situation and who the guy is to you would be helpful.
