I know men are stronger , but I thought I had a chance against a random average guy
He was a good sport and I am not a feminist, but I feel so demotivated
Well for one, genetics make men bigger and more study on average with a different muscle composition. Second, environment and culture puts higher demands on men to perform physically our entire lives. You try to be strong for fun on weekends or whatever. It's a requirement for us. That why we are strong. We have to do it every day. The difference is truly dramatic. For example two women and an old man were unloading pallets from the back of a pickup truck. Between the three of them they were managing ok, but sort of struggling with a mix of 30 - 70 pound wooden pallets and skiffs. They were out of breath working as a team of three. They asked me for a hand and I was like sure no problem and just started picking them up like it was nothing one after the other by my self and one of the women said to the other, woah I guess he just picks them up. I didn't mean to make them feel bad or whatever, it's just it really wasn't anything. I could do that all day and it wouldn't even get me tired. It was light work.
Because we start "working out" from the age of 12,13,14... We cut wood, we learn to shovle, we learn to lift Heavy things, we desvolt out body for the future, and after that the Weight Life keeps on going, like getting a job in construction... while girls at 12,13,14years old "used to play with dolls", not all they do just sit in their pink room with their Phone/Tablet/Pc on... sadly that started for guys too since 2000's onwards...🤷♂️
So i guess will have more "girls" than men, in generations to come. 🤦♂️
This is something that I wish was more known by young girls, like part of middle school PE or something because I think a lot of especially young people think it is a small difference but it is a huge difference, on average, there are always exceptions. I think TV and movies that show women fighting men on what looks like a realistic even or nearly even level can influence people without much real world experience and might lead to dangerous situations. I realize I sound like a grandma saying this lol.
You're very right , I always hated movie scenes showing a woman beat up 10 big men
I think I belong to the group of women you mentioned, I never thought the difference is this huge..
well, it's not for nothing that self defence for girl basicaly just teach us how to get away and the run from a agrresor
My coach always told me to recommend the female students to not use the moves in real life rather act scared and then kick the groin with full force and run as fast as possible
Or maybe carry a pepper spray!
I guess he was very right!
@JackCarter Nice advice and he was 100% correct!
If it's a superhero movie and it's a female superhero beating up 10 normal guys I don't think that will confuse anybody, or if it's a robot that looks like a woman beating up 10 guys I don't think that will confuse anybody, the ones that bother me are when it is a normal human woman (maybe w special training) beating up much bigger guys (who also sometimes have special training but I guess hers is supposed to be better). I think that is really playing w fire for how teens deal w each other, I have noticed even in the last five years not as many guys think "don't hit a girl" is a rule they should follow.
An average girl fighting an average guy is like a guy fighting a bear or something, it is not a fair fight and it is a lot smarter to run or get to safety instead of trying to prove something by fighting. JMO!
Well as a woman, I know that I’m not weak I can put up a fight. But when it comes to a man, however pump up that I am I rather walk off than square him off for and endurance and strength flight. They are genetically stronger, and that it to me.

I'm a man who had no training in martial arts or self defense and i can assure you that no woman in the world can dream of beating me physically, maybe the ones who tough and are pro's in martial arts could cause some harm to me but to make me lose, no way, cause even a lot of men can't bring me down, how about women 😂😂
Tbh i'm a man who likes peace, i'm not aggressive unless i was pushed to my limits and for sure i prefer to use my power to help people and do the good things...
Why do you wanna beat men? Does it makes you feel strong? 😏
How tall are you and how much do you weigh? I love the confidence and it's probably true
I am not a violent person either nor do I wanna beat someone.. I only see this as a sport and getting beaten by a newbie despite me having years of training makes me feel bad
I'm nearly 6ft 1 inches and i weight 243 pounds but it's not always about the size, but also about the power...
Don't be sad, it seems that this newbie is strong cause if he was just an average guy, you'd take him down, the power of muscles plays a role too in such sports...
It is important for you to realize your limitations. No matter how confident you feel, in a real world situation, you are still capable of being seriously hurt or worse.
Not all men are made stronger than women. I have seen plenty of women fight harder than some men.
Evolution just made us this way. But many women have overcome that limitation.
Even most men that think they are Billy Bad Ass, know that just around the corner, there is someone just waiting to steal his identity.
Its just how humans are made
Men and Woman are so different, and competing agains each other in a physical sport is impossible.
You should feel bad loosing to man 😔
Professional sport stars dont compete cross gender because it will never be a fair fight
Its just human anatomy
I think it was Serena Williams who said... whe might be the best in tennis as a woman but she will loose agains a bottom of the barrel male
Just fight agains other woman and get that confidence back up 💪🏻
Hope this helps 🙏🏻
If it makes you feel any better Im a purple belt who handled a black belt female.
Look... jiu-jitsu is like a super power if the other person doesn’t know it, but that advantage quickly decreases if the other person also trains. They know basic defense, they have good posture, they know how to grip fight etc.
Now make them a man.
And now make them an athletic man.
Don’t feel bad, you’re not going to be dealing with trained jiu-jitsu fights in a street fight, thankfully.
If you are a brown belt you're already a tough person!
It's just nature.. we both are just made differently and that doesn't make either of us superior or inferior to the other
If you put a man against a silverback gorilla, doesn't matter how strong or skilled the man is but he's dead
Now that was an over kill but strength does matter in a fight
That's why I hate intergenger sports and let us have separate gender divisions and be happy at the end of the day!
Yes you are very right
Strength does matter very much and women would get killed if there's intergender combat sports
Thanks for the encouragement!)
Sure thing!!
I think you know why there are few sports where competition is not divided by gender where gender means gender and not pretend genders.
I don't think you should feel demotivated. You aren't one of the sillies who think that women aren't as strong as men only because the patriarchy hasn't allowed them to feel as strong.
If your motivation has been you could defend yourself against random average guys than I could see the outcome was disappointing. Just enjoy the sport.
Even among men, genetics determine most of the potential ability. When I first started in martial arts I could easily defeat some of the black belts due to a significant strength difference, even though they were men too.
Oh I see. Karate?
Mother Nature built men to be physically stronger than women, in order to protect women and their children. That's the way basic biology works. Sure, in Modern Society, men no longer need to protect women, and women can do more than have children, but the basic biology is still there.
Testosterone is a strength hormone found in higher percentages in men than in women.
Men are naturally stronger. Much stronger. The senior American women football team who were world champions were beaten badly a team of Under 15 boys. Don’t let biology dishearten you. You’re meant to compete in your own category anyway. Keep practicing the sport you love and are good at. At the very least you’ll be able to defend yourself or someone vulnerable near you.
Well no need to be demotivated, that's just biology
Even World's greatest Female fighter of her time Lucia Rijiker couldn't beat an average light weight male fighter
The physical difference is huge , that's just biology
Chin up tough girl!
I just watched that fight
It's astonishing how cool he looked, didn't even look like he tried his best
Can't believe world's greatest got knocked down easily by a random amateur
I feel a bit good now I don't know why, thanks!
We just are , mostly because of size too, only in the movies a little guy can beat up a big guy not knowing martial arts, bigger mass will usually win over someone that is trained that is why they have weight classes in fighting to make it even
Well said big trained guy always beats a small trained guy!
Yeah of course
Testosterone increases strength and muscle mass. That’s why people take steroids - steroids are all testosterone based.
I did karate against much better guys. Don’t quit just don’t!!!
Thanks for the kind words.
What belt if I may ask?
Men are biological hunters while women are biological homemakers.
Well you said he was a newbie but did he have any prior bjj experience or any martial arts experience prior to joining your class? Was he a powerlifter or a amateur body builder or amateur strongman? He could also have a sleeper build
A lot of it boils down to genetics height muscle strength muscle fibers thickness of bones thickness of skin
OK let me ask you this would you be able to take on a guy or woman who's 7'0 or 7'4 or 7'3 350lbs to 540lbs? Or would you be able to take someone on who's 6'0 or 5'10 415lbs or 600lbs or 715lbs? Or 350lbs? Height and weight play a huge factor in this. Same with someone who's 285 benching 400lbs-630lbs and squatting 400lbs-600lbs or more. Muscle plays a huge factor in this to over power your opponent. When you have someone that big all the techniques in the world won't do you much good unless you know pressure points and your opponents weaknesses and able to exploit them
He was like 5'10 a bit above my 5'9 and not that big
I know bodybuilders or strongmen would easily throw me around
I get your point
Reminds me of a comment that I guy made that really made me angry and really pissed me off so much it made me so angry that I feel it's not appropriate for me to describe what was going through my mind when I read that comment
because nature made them this way
