Why does he tell everyone I’m his girlfriend in front of me except me?

He likes to show me off in both of his jobs. The other day he told one of his bosses that he couldn’t go to work because he was w/ his girlfriend. (Not as an excuse because he works a lot and he was willing to go)
He wants to take a picture w/ me. During sex he spends the night and hugs me like I’m a prisoner. In the beginning he told me not to fall in love but his the one showing me off. 🤷🏽‍♀️

This is definitely a confusing situation. A few things could be going on here:

- He likes the attention and status that comes with having a "girlfriend" but isn't ready for the label or commitment for whatever reason.

- Telling others you're together but not confirming it with you directly keeps things ambiguous and in his control. Not cool.

- The affectionate way he acts otherwise seems to contradict saying not to fall for him. Mixed signals for sure.

I'd try having an honest talk with him about where you both see things going. Let him know his words and actions aren't lining up and it's leaving you unsure of your standing. You deserve clarity on whether he wants something real or is just having fun on his terms.

If he can't clearly define what he wants or makes excuses, you might need to protect your feelings and keep your options open. Don't let him lead you on if he isn't serious. At the same time, coming at it from a place of understanding could help him open up instead of shutting down. Just want to see you respected in this!

Because he is afraid that he might loose his job, but by the sound of it he just like to show off, lots of red flags in there, unless...
He knows there is "someone else in there that likes you" so knowing that gossip travels fast he want to "male sure" that the "other person" find out, and fast...

Whenever I hear someone mention their girlfriend/boyfriend in every sentence, I automatically assume they feel some kind of superiority as to say "someone thinks I'm attractive enough to be with me," rather than there actually being a valid reason to mention the relationship anyway.


In all honesty, it sounds like a red flag to show you off to others, but then being inconsistent in communicating his feelings to you.


I'd definitely ask about his intentions and where he thinks your future is heading.

You need to communicate more with him, and he does seem confused in a relationship. You need to ask him how he sees you and him in a relationship.
