Do guys seek approval from girls they don't like (even if the guys are attractive)?

Recently I saw my old crush to the street and he seemed happy when he saw me ( he was smiling). He stood still for a second as he was observing me and out of nowhere he came to my direction ( at first he was going to a different direction). He was acting like I wasn't there and he was walking slowly and I noticed that he was smiling and he gave me the feeling that he wanted to know if I will turn around to see him. I don't understand what exactly he could do with that information cause he always knew that I liked him but he never made a move. What are your thoughts on this?

I don't think you can necessarily call it seeking approval but maybe. I see it like this and not to compare people to puppies but to illustrate a larger point. You know how sometimes people see a puppy and it cute and they want it. Only to get it home and realize it whimpers and cries all night. Demands more attention than you can give. It chews on your nice things and slowly starts to annoy you to the point you decide you have to let it go because it's not fair to the puppy that you can't give it the time it deserves. Puppy is still cute and you let it go to hopefully a better home that can love it like it needs. Once the puppy is gone it's hard not to miss the puppy and if you saw it sometime later walking along the street waging it's tail looking happy and healthy behaving getting attention it would be normal to pause and question if you made the right decisions. Ok so with all that you have to realize something major in this scenario. You have to realize this pause and retake really has nothing to do with the puppy cute as it was it has everything to do with that fear we all have if making the wrong decision and missing out on something. People do this with all kinds of decisions they make like with stocks, trips. I don't think it means much in the way of feelings for you but more in the selfish did I maybe let something of value slip through my fingers. So they are more seeking approval from their ego.

Why I would seek approval from a woman I'm not interested in? Where is he seeking approval? The him walking thing I read like five times and it still makes no sense.

Most people seek validation so to answer the question yes guys and girls alike seek approval. Does everyone do that and all the time? No. As for this guy only he knows what was going on in his head and why he did what he did. We can only guess. I am going to guess that it didn't mean anything. It's so easy to overthink these little gestures. It's even easier to see meaning in something trivial when you have a crush. You tend to over analysize things because you want them to be true. Best advice is to not put too much thought into a simple smile.

Nah, I don't think anybody would seek approval from somebody they're not interested in, in some way.. This guy maybe he wanted you to notice him.. But you never know.. Could've just been acting funny and happy to see you inna familial sense at the same time.
