How do you feel about a guy having a shirtless profile picture?

I believe the younger you are, the quicker you will judge someone based on their profile photo and set a perception of that guy and that's it. The older and more mature you become, you might still have a certain perception, however, you will give the person a chance to explore them further.

Personally, for us, a shirtless profile picture wouldn't give us a bad perception. It could easily have been taken during their latest summer holiday on the beach. Whom am I to judge that?

I used to think it was douchey, but then I met a guy who explained that he took a lot of shirtless pictures because he was proud to have overcome an eating disorder and was finally happy in his skin. I don't judge a book by their cover anymore. Really cool guy, too.

I think it's the same situation as a woman having a photo in her underwear or bikini. Most MEN like to look at IT if the woman is fit and has the right measurements, if not they don't seem interested. Probably the same goes for most women and a shirtless photo of a guy, if he is well-built you want to look, if not, then no. It's just a way to attract the opposite sex online.

Maybe it is annoying for women who cannot casually show a nipple without being called a slut in the same settings where a man can take his whole shirt off? Men AND women are both to blame for the double standard here. There are many double standards though and some favour men while others favour women.

In cultures where there is no such taboo for women, men have zero problems being topless. It is considered normal. I think this supports the theory. Western society tends to challenge norms by shortening dresses, revealing more cleavage, and wild variations of sexual promiscuity.

Getting angry about it makes zero sense. The majority sets the sociocultural rules we live by and if you want to challenge that then go ahead but it will just burn your bridges.
