Hmm, I don't want to jump to conclusions about your husband not caring. Parenting young kids can be really overwhelming. Maybe he was focused on your kid and didn't realize how much you had going on. Or it's possible he's just not thinking ahead sometimes.

Instead of assuming he doesn't care, try talking to him. Have an honest conversation when you're both calm - say something like "The other day when we went out, I felt stressed carrying everything myself. It would really help me out if you checked in and offered to carry a bag occasionally without me asking." Make it about teamwork, not accusing him.

Hopefully he'll listen and be more aware next time. But remember, caring isn't always showing it perfectly. Being a clueless dad sometimes doesn't mean he doesn't care about you deep down. Communication is key - if it keeps happening after you talk, then you may need to reevaluate. But for now give him a chance to do better if you bring it up calmly.
