- He called me "very nice" in front of others

- he opens doors for me

HE is also my supervisor occasionally. Is he just being a sweet guy?

Hmm it's hard to say for sure since he's also your supervisor. Some of those things like picking up your item and opening doors could just be normal polite things to do. But a few things make me think he might be into you a bit more than platonically:

- Maintaining eye contact when picking it up seems extra attentive rather than just casual.

- Wishing you a lovely night specifically and adding a smiley seems nicer than a standard friendly message.

- Calling you "very nice" to others could be a little compliment beyond just being courteous.

Since he's in a position of power over you at work, he'd have to be really careful about anything romantic. But it sounds like he could be interested! I'd say just be aware of any other subtle signs like if he finds excuses to talk to you more or makes more eye contact with you than others.

See how he acts outside of work too if you interact. Otherwise maybe just stay friendly for now to be safe. But it's possible there could be something more brewing under the surface! Keep me posted if you notice any other little signals from him.
