I feel like people dislike me at first glance given their facial expressions, body language etc. Oftentimes I feel like they avoid me on purpose even though they know nothing about me, are very short and dry and don't even want to talk about work related things. However when I back off others tell me that they told them that I don't want to socialize with them which is just not true. Do any of you autistic people have experienced the same?

I used to work with autistic kids a long time ago, they were so creative, precious, and intelligent. I’m so sorry you felt that way, sometimes, work environments is such a challenge to find the right people and it may even just be one person you find that will make a difference. I hope you find that person that makes you feel comfortable. They’re probably ignorant or poorly educated… it’s easy for people to judge, but what’s important is just be yourself and bring what you own :) Neurodivergent is pretty common but not always spoken nor aware that someone may have it. I wanna say we are all learning more about it. I think it’s good to talk about it and for people to have a better understanding. Let them get to know you and for you to get to know them when that opportunity permits, which does takes time~
People are so quick to judge. It's honestly just immaturity and ignorance. I've worked with Autistic people and almost always are the most interesting
yeah, i feel like if i was just prettier people would not exclude me from everything. it does not matter how i dress and how i do my hair, i'm invisible, people leave me out of the loop constantly and blame me if I'm not up to date
What's your work?
engineering
Yeah full of entitled people then? I work in that industry also
So you think they think i'm just not cool? tbh i don't find them too interesting either but at least i try to be polite
Nah they're just douchebags aha
ok but why do they avoid and exclude me? due you think it would be different if i looked different?
if they're superficial that might be the case. Some people in the work profession can sense when someone is not as 'popular' which in their eyes is extrovert behaviour
