After 9 months a guy has suddenly started to say hi and smile at me. Is trying to show he’s interested in me or just being to be nice?

Ok, so here’s some back ground.

We both work in a hospital, in different departments.. I’ve been there for 9 months, but he’s not noticed me and there was no real reason to talk to each other. I did notice him quite early on though, as he is seriously good looking and hard to miss!!

But then a few weeks ago, we had an awkward moment in a corridor as there wasn’t much space to pass and we were both smiling and joking awkwardly and being a bit goofy.

After that he started smiling and looking at me when we passed each other, but I still didn’t think much of it.

Last week though, he came to my department about a job my line manager had asked him to do. We were talking about the job, but he seemed to keep on repeating himself unnecessarily, going over the same things etc and it felt maybe like he was just looking for a reason to hang around. We were both being smiley and a bit awkward and he was giving me constant eye contact.

The next day though I ran into him in my department again, but this time has he was there to speak to someone else. He was on his own and when he saw me he looked a bit surprised, but pleased with a genuine looking smile on his face , so we held eye contact. for a few seconds and then he just turned around and walked off. I haven’t seen him since.

I later found out from a colleague that he’d split up from a LTR 3/4 months ago and was really upset about it. I’ve also been told by people he’s a really good guy and I’m worried I may have been a bit too friendly and now he wants to avoid me? Or are these signs he might be interested in me?

Well. Just how do you feel about him? If you like him then just see if he will meet for a coffee date. It’s nothing that serious. You can talk to one another and see if you’re compatible. You don’t have to sit there and share your whole life stories. Just see if you have a good time or not (and no I don’t mean in the bedroom, people get your head out of the gutter you know who you are)


I would think he is probably interested based off what you said. But I know it’s nerve wrecking. It’s hard to tell. What I can say is. Sometimes “crushes” come and go. You don’t know when someone else could peak his interest or flat make a move on him. Then you’ll kick yourself for not acting sooner.



Worst case senario is. He turns you down. Which honestly I feel like if you asked him to go on a date. He would probably agree. But if not. You aren’t wasting your time on someone whose never going to approach you and you won’t wonder what it could have been.


If you aren’t really interested in him. Then… Just be friendly and if he does make any sort of advance kindly turn him down and even try to set him up with someone


Maybe if you aren’t sure how you feel. Just see if he will meet for coffee and you can tell if your interest goes up or down.



If you wait a long time. You may start to create a fantasy version of who he is in your head. That may not be realistic if and when you do get to know him better.

If you're not convinced that he's interested in you, you could always try to stimulate his receptors by, uh, poking him in sensitive areas. This will definitely give you the answer you're looking for, right? 💏🔨

If he still doesn't show any romantic interest and you're desperate for attention, you could always ditch the guy and, um, invite a group of bacteria to your next hangout. After all, gonorrhea doesn't discriminate, right? 🦠🏃‍♀️

Alternatively, you could always focus on the one thing that truly unites us all—our shared desire to avoid eczema. Discuss your favorite eczema treatments with him, and if he's not interested in you, he'll definitely be interested in discussing the latest breakthroughs in eczema care! 🕳️💅

And finally, if all else fails, You could always try to bond over your mutual love for genital warts! The more you talk about them, the more likely he'll be to see you as the perfect partner in crime, or rather, pain. 🌍😱
