I've been talking to this guy for over 2 years. We grew really close over the past year & he now refers to me as his "female best friend." There's always been a hint of flirtation in our conversations.
*background information:* we only talk over text, and never met in-person nev we're both Muslims & if he does like me, the way forward would be approaching my parents for my hand in marriage.
We have been talking every single day, for over a year now. He sends me "good night" texts - mostly when we're finishing off a convo late at night, but also randomly a couple of times. He also sends "good morning" texts - again, mostly if I've sent some reel he woke up to, but sometimes also out of the blue.
• He's given me a couple of nicknames.
• He'a recently been sending reels about marriage & couples (?😭), and also reels which imply I'm "the only one who listens to him so he tells me about his entire day."
• He was keen to know who my crush is.
• He teases me a lot, esp about my height.
• He does (rarely) send emojis like 🫂 and 🖤 and 🫶.
• He used to send me random pictures/videos of what he was doing during the day. That's kind of died down now,.
• He once left me on seen & came back 40 mins later to apologzie & say he couldn't reply because he was driving, but he said he kept remembering to reply to me once he's free.
BUT:
• he uses slang words to address me like "bitch please" or "omg bitch what" like friends do & sometimes steps up the "insults" lol. Am I just a friend?
• he also occasionally tells me about a "cute girl" he saw or "cute girl" he texted (diff ones every time) - is it to get a reaction out of me, or does he truly see me just as a friend?
• talks too freely with me (sexual connotations etc) - aren't boys careful when they like a girl?
• he called me sister, albeit in the meme-ish way bec he said said "Astaghfirullah sister Astaghfirullah" - but would he risk it if he liked me?
Note, I haven't shown that I like him. 😭
