Little over a month ago I met a man online with whom I started talking after e reached out to me. I had put a question online and he replied. We started talking and the conversation kept going after that.
We moved our conversation to Telegram and over time he let me know he was getting interested in me. To the point where he after a few weeks asked how I would feel about being his girlfriend. I told him I did really like him and that I would definitely want to make my way up there, but that I had to get used to that idea because he lived overseas. He was alright with that.
Our conversations kept going, we sent voice messages, pictures daily, and called on another regularly. I was genuinely ready to fall in love with this guy, and he told me he was already half way there... at times he would randomly text me to let me know he was thinking of me or that he liked me. I told him I was feeling the same way and wanted him to know that I'd try my best. He kept saying it was alright, he'd be patient.
We decided to take it to a video calls and had planned to meet in a few hours. I'd sleep for a little and he'd wake me up. When I woke up, I was blocked on everything.
My heart is completely shattered. Nothing happened, no issues, clear communication... I have often questioned whether he was catfishing me, but all his pictures added up; some stories he told I could trace back on internet; and although I felt like something was off, I doubt it was his persona altogether. The only thing I did doubt was his actual name and age, because he kept sending personal images.
I literally told him if there was anything he needed to tell me that hadn't been true, I wanted him to open up to me because I liked him regardless and he never felt the need to. So my question is... how can you block someone all of a sudden when you want them to love you and continue to tell you that?
Why does a man make you fall in love, then block you?

Look, we cannot know why he did that. But it has to be something shady or maybe he was just unstable. No one can know. Let's just say that you dodged a bullet from a far worse heartbreak in the future.
Now I know that you must be hoping that one day he might unblock you and come back and give you all the explanations and everything will get back to how it was. But no, don't do this to yourself. It was only cause you more pain. What you need right now is a good friend who you can confide in, who can just listen and comfort you and also a damn good hobby in which you can invest your time in. Time will heal, you've to move on. You cannot keep holding on to him.

You're certainly right. I guess I'm mostly hurt by the fact that our initial conversation started because someone I was close to had deleted me off their socials and I didn't understand why. He reached out to let me know how he felt about the situation, that it wasn't something I should take too personal, stuff like that. I told him I was scared he'd get tired of me and he told me he couldn't imagine himself getting angry at me, because of how much he cared. That was literally 2 days before he blocked me. It just confuses me to say the least... and I want to know if there's anything I could have done to prevent it... but clearly, if that was the case, he would communicate it to me, like he did every other time. I probably did dodge a bullet, but I think I would have rather known what exactly caused this bullet. And now he's literally the one doing the thing I dreaded most. It just hurts my heart.
I know exactly how it feels miss. I don't think there is anything you could've done to prevent it. Some people are twisted like that, they act all friendly and open up to you and when you open up to them and put your guard down, they just find a way to take it all back somehow as if it didn't matter and leave you wondering what you did wrong. We need to stay away from such people. The worse thing you can do is to keep wondering about the reason he did that. It will lead you nowhere because you won't get an answer. Like I said before, you need a good friend to support you through this mess (a real life friend or family member) and you need a damn good hobby. Invest time in yourself now and you'll cruise through in no time.
I guess it's just a very sad situation. As weird as it might sound, I wanted to locate him to see if I could find out about his relationship, but he seems to not even exist any longer. It's just extremely saddening to me. But anyway, I noticed you're in a somewhat similar situation. feel free to reach out if you need to. Wishing you the best.
No, not at the moment. But I have been there. That's why I am asking you to try and move on. I know how it feels. It's futile to think more about him, it will just keep holding you back and hurt more.

I appreciate it. Thank you. I'm hoping it won't be on my mind for too long, since I have many deadlines coming up. But knowing myself, it's probably gonna take much longer than I'd hope for. Which is what I'm kinda bothered by... the two of us literally had a conversation about how much I care about everything, worry about everything, and am simply scared for things going wrong. He would always assure me that it was alright for me to reach out to him whenever necessary, and he'd be there to talk about it. We told the other to always tell their worries... and apparently he felt better cutting things off than getting things off his chest. But anyway, a hobby should be fine.. I have training 5 times a week and that does help, although I have had many times where I've only been distracted... but I'll just keep on going. Thank you for your time 🍀
A similar thing happened to me too. It really caught me off guard. I still struggle to understand but have decided he must have either been caught or was way too much of a coward to just tell me he wanted it to be over.

I'm sorry you can relate. It's honestly a shitty feeling, something that could honestly could be avoided (I'd like to believe). So I hope you've found your peace of mind.
Is that logical? We literally talked for hours before that, because he was going out for dinner with friends. He'd call me as soon as he got back... that's literally how the conversation went. Letting me know that he was very fond of me and was happy to talk to me...
I guess.. that could be it. He literally texted me the night before, saying he was falling in love with me, out of nowhere... but anyway, that might've just been for fun, I don't know.
That'd be explanatory, but he literally called any time of the day, also at night, and explain why he hadn't been in a relationship for a while. I mean, he could obviously be lying, but it doesn't seem logical. (However, nothing is about this, I realise that)
People can be anyone they want online, you should certainly know this by now. This is why online relationships should never be taken seriously nor entertained.
