If i am interested i would try to keep some eye contact but not too much. If im not interested i might keep eye contact but not go back more than two times. But some guys are shy and may try to avoid eye contact. If he is confident he should look at your direction more often than not if he is interested.

Why would you bother making eye contact from afar if you are not into her?

Well if someone is staring at you its a normal reaction. Confident guys are more likely to keep an eye contact even for no reason. He may try to figure out are you looking at him.

-Oh she probably likes me and want to get my attention
A. I like her
- keep eye contact from time to time with more intention
B. I dont like her
- might check if she is watching again but try to not keep eye contact for long to not give false signals or to not get awkward

I smiled at this guy from afar while he was flirting with another girl. I thought he didn’t notice me but two days later he stares at me from afar for 10 seconds to get my attention but I ignored him. Do you think he was attracted or not?

I can't say for sure. If it was me I wouldn’t stare that long at a girl i dont like but if he is player that flirts with many girls all the time he might be doing it for the game. Depends what kind of guy he is. I personally dont like to give girls high hopes if im not attracted but also dont want to come as an ashore and reject a girl directly.

Also there is one more variant that happened to me a lot. There’s girls that i like but not enough to want to bother dating. Im flirty sometimes with these girls but dont take the next step because im not sure if i like the girl enough.

Usually its the looks yes. They maybe be pretty but not what im looking for. I wouldn’t flirt with a girl that is not pretty at all. Also i dont like bitch like behavior from girls mean girls. They may be good looking but if they are too bitchy or overconfident i stay away.

Okay. Well I have a question. I smiled at a guy once from afar while he was talking to a girl because I just thought he was cute looking. I wasn’t trying to flirt because he was distracted by her anyway. Three days later he sees me again in a lecture and tries to make eye contact with me from afar. Do you think he would do that if he didn’t find me attractive?

If he is trying probably does or he is not one of the oblivious ones and he did notice you before probably is trying to get you to look again.

I asked him months later via WhatsApp why he stared at me instead of just approaching me. He replied that he was just never that interested … I don’t understand men
