Did you always go to special education classes all through your school years?
Could you get paperwork from the schools to prove it.
Who diagnosed you with autism?
In California there is a Program run by the state and one of the criteria for benefits is people with autism.
My son has learning disabilities and people can be so cruel to disabled people.
He finally made it to 12th grade and they made fun of him so I told him he didn't have to go back.
Now your situation, yes, I definitely would try to get on disability. Of course it won't be easy but maybe someone can help you through the process.
I think different States approve disability easier than other States.
California they turn down everyone even when they have all the paperwork from the doctors.
Even if you have a lawyer they turn people down and tell you to try again. The wait for that us two years!
I hope you are in an easy state. We were in Tennessee when my son got his disability and it was easy as pie.
Go for it;
yes all my years of school was special education classes.
I do not know how the system works in the USA, but it is a tough criteria here in the UK and we tend to be kinder with social security. Autism usually does not qualify, but you might as well try. But it may be better to get medical advice or even legal advice first
I wouldn't say stupid but it probably won't be accepted
I could take disability but I prefer working while I can
why would it not be won't be accepted
