Why is autism a disability up until a guy is trying to get a girlfriend?

Autism is a disability. ok, I follow you there. But how should this be treated when it comes to getting a girlfriend? I'm not sure I understand what you're complaint is exactly.

I'm not sure what the "wrong mindset" means in your specific case.

I might be getting you wrong here, but:

If your mindset ends up making you less attractive to girls, then it doesn't matter why. So whether it's autism, depression or schizophrenia... if you end up appearing in a way that is unattractive, or off-putting to girls, you're right autism isn't going to be treated with any consideration. The point isn't the autism its the mindset.

Now I'm imagining "mindset" to be someone who is in a bad place mentally. Negative. It could be something totally different than what you're actually talking about.

I think what it comes down to is, dating and attracting the opposite sex, is not a fair competition. For anyone. Expecting anything to level the field is a mistake.

So if you're hot and charming, nerdy and shy, depressed, socially anxious, autistic, or whatever... all you can do, is do your best to find a partner who is a good fit. You have to do so with whatever hand you've been delt in life. Whether that's acne or autism... everybody just does the best they can do with what they got. What else can anyone do?

Not sure I understand your question. Autism has many varying degrees. You can have autism and not speak, and you can have Aspergers and be able to speak but not have the knowledge or capacity to understand how to communicate with others or have trouble engaging in deep relationships. Of course, people with Aspergers do get married. So, if a person with autism is trying to get a girlfriend and they have no trouble with either of those, then all e needs to do is check off all the other things men without autism have to do to impress a woman. Check your hygiene, grooming, clothes, and so on. Don't come on too strong or the ladies will run.
