Why would a guy leave you on read if they are the ones who message you first?

He reaches out to me first 99 precent of the time. then after a little bit he leaves me on read. When he reached out to me first. So I am purposely avoiding him for the next few days and taking it from there. I just wanna know why guys do this...

I’ve dealt with guys like this in the past and from my experience you’re better off not engaging anymore. It’s a waste of time ultimately and I’m convinced that reaching out to us is like a result of their boredom. I mainly think this because 9/10 they aren’t putting or encouraging any excess effort outside of a conversation that dwindles out fairly quick. If they were interested in more, they’d be showing it with their actions, like asking you to hang out or something. The fact they only limit us the short lived, lackluster conversations before going awol is very telling of their intentions: nothing.
