Hi, I have a little problem and I don’t know what to do. I'll try to summarize it briefly.
I've been friends with a boy for two years.
He tends to be shy.. We get on really well. I really appreciate him as a person and his qualities. I like being with him. Sometimes I even thought to myself, wow this guy has the qualities I'm looking for in a partner. But I never thought more. (Also because I got out of a toxic relationship 1.5 years ago and am very cautious as a result).
For some time now, however, I and the others in particular have noticed that he is showing signs of being interested in me. I'm usually very shy, but I dared to ask him if it was true that he is interested in me.
His answer to this was not clear, or rather it was, but I was quite unsure. He was surprised that others had noticed that he seemed to be interested in me. His facial expression revealed that he felt he had been caught out.
He said that he wasn't doing it consciously, but unconsciously (is that a confirmation of my question?). And that he had definitely thought about it and was thinking about it.
Unfortunately, I only realized these words of his after our conversation. Was he indirectly saying that he likes me and thinks about me and can imagine a relationship with me?
He also said indirectly that I‘m pretty and totally his type. I never expected such an answer from him. I always thought he didn't want anything. It's just friendship. I told him that I'm not interested in a relationship at the moment. But his answer has been making me think for days. He has what I'm looking for in a man and suddenly I can imagine him as a partner. I just didn't realize it before.
I'd love to ask him what he meant by that, but I'm so scared because I think it's too late. What do you think? Was he indirectly saying that he likes me? Can I still ask him and say that I've changed my mind?
