I find dating difficult because men now don’t seem to have any hobbies or interests. I’ve asked a few male friends of mine and they all say guys just don’t really have hobbies they go to work watch sports when it’s on. I like everyone else goes to work too but myself and most of the women I know have hobbies whether that be reading, yoga, gardening, writing, kayaking, anything. Is it a thing about the men I know or men in general because I just have found it very difficult to meet any guys with interests at all.
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yI think men have a lot of hobbies. They’re just not hoodies you see as a hobby because they’re male oriented. Like shooting guns, whether that’s hunting or just out doing target practice. I like gardening, which also includes mowing the yard. I do it because I get peace from it, to see how good my yard looks after I clean it up, fix it up w decorations, etc. Yes technically gaming can be considered a hobby. A hobby is something someone does for pleasure or fun. Once it becomes profitable it’s not really a hobby, now it’s a job, side hustle. Men also like fishing, drinking, drinking and fishing. Your idea of a hobby seems to be things that most women would do w the exception of kayaking. Other hobbies men may enjoy, photography, martial arts, hiking, woodwork, collecting, cycling, weightlifting, camping, brewing beer. A lot of those may not be what you do cause a majority of women aren’t going to like those things. Yes for the girl who says I like brewing my own beer, or woodwork, you’re the exception, not the rule.

1 yI have plenty of hobbies. That’s probably because I haven’t had a girlfriend in almost 10 years and haven’t bothered seeking one. I build Lego sets with my dad, I go to movies with my nana, I do board games and puzzles with my mom. I’m an author so I write but that’s a hobby turned career. I also read a lot. I suppose most men don’t have hobbies because they’re too worried about finding pussy. They really need to focus on themselves these days.

Asker1 yI like this response focus less in chasing women and better yourself and honestly in my opinion that's key to getting a good partner anyways

Thanks. Most people call me an incel because I prefer not to chase women. Apparently it means I must hate women 🤷🏻♂️ Must be because I’m not giving women what they want

I could not stay in one place that long I either have to be building something fixing something and venting something working on something out in the fresh air gold hunting Rock hunting over at a friend's house fixing something LOL doing something I used to register bikes go camping on the weekends I have a boat go parasailing fishing skiing that's in the summertime winter time snow skiing... For me I have to be doing something at all times I don't think I've watched TV for the last past 5 or 6 years except for maybe three or four times just went on making dinner or something and I don't really watch it I just turn it on to listen to it00 Reply1.2K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. You might not just be not recognizing male hobbies because they don't fit into typically female hobbies. If you knew me probably you would consider me a workaholic, like other women, who say I am without hobbies.
In reality I have carefully crafted a career that is of intense interest to me. I have a hobby that I get paid for very well. How good is that huh? I am like the air force pilot who said I get to fly at Mach 8 and be paid for it!
You might see me as on my laptop again doing a non-hobby when I am following another intense interest - history; especially the Roman Empire. Every time i learn something new is a dopamine hit. I work at my hobbies just as I have made work a hobby.
Drinking beer and talking shit about football is a hobby too. As are computer games.
Certainly guys I know have strongly developed interests whilst their girl probably thinks they have none i suspect.
00 Reply1.7K opinions shared on Guy's Behavior topic. Most men have a lot of hobbies that most females’ don’t really enjoy , and most females’ have hobbies that men don’t enjoy , so we tend to keep it to ourselves to not bore each other with it. If she does enjoy it? , that’s usually a bonus point if she does. Why finding someone that has a lot in common with you is a good thing to have with someone. When I meet a beautiful girl and she tells me she likes something I enjoy , I tend to like her more because I feel her and I have things in common.
10 ReplyMost guys have hobbies. Being that none of the guys you are attracted to have hobbies, and the only thing they claim to do is work, then it's a strong indicator that you are primarily attracted to men based on money. If work is all they do and all they are putting out as their personality, then you must not really care about hobbies.

1 yI think that a lot of people struggle to have hobbies in general, but that's definitely an issue with the guys you know.
I know that I had the same problem in reverse for a long time, where the women I met were all so boring. Maybe you need to change up where you meet guys to find more interesting people.

1 yI hear this. It takes work for me to get past the women whose entire non-work activities consist of partying, watching reality television, and celebrity gossip.
Perhaps try joining a group or taking a class in a "hobby" area that appeals to you. Music, chess, wood working, ... use your imagination to get beyond the basic guys.00 Reply
Anonymous(45 Plus)1 yThey probably just don't have any hobbies they want to share with you. Guys have just as many hobbies as women. Well, women that are career women anyways. It's possible that it is just the guys you choose. You might just have to accept you're attracted to one dimensional guys.
Asker1 yCan’t stand the one dimensional type if I have to hunt down a man with substance I will.
Opinion Owner1 yI never said you could stand them. Re-read what I just said. I said, "You might have to accept you're ATTRACTED to one dimensional guys".
It's mostly guys at all the places I go for hobbies. Gym, hiking, martial arts, sports, etc... Gaming and gambling too. Maybe you just date boring guys. Or workaholics.

Asker1 yI don’t tend to consider going to the gym or videos a hobby. Gym I categorize as self care. I have trouble dating typically for this reason so It’s more the boring guys I don’t date. Maybe it’s more of a miscommunication of what I consider a hobby?
- 1 y
I consider yoga, gardening and reading to be self care, but they're also hobbies. So yeah probably just a difference of opinion on what you categorize as a hobby. If you have strict rules about what counts and what doesn't, make that clear ahead of time with guys. They'll appreciate your honesty and you'll save yourself a lot of time.
Asker1 yI don’t not consider them necessarily I just never thought of it that way no judgment to either
1 yIt could be for a lot of reasons. I think the most common reason is just that they've forgotten how enjoyable hobbies can be.
Here are some other potential reasons:
Not enough time
Not enough money
Not enough energy10 Reply
1 yI don't know a single guy with no hobbies. Either you've never asked these chaps what their hobbies or you just didn't like the answers they gave you

Asker1 yMy male friends have all said men don’t have hobbies outside of the gym and for some videos games
1 ySome don’t and some do. I’m into games, martial arts and music creation but I’m just a normal guy.
Some men treat watching sports and hanging with bros and cracking some beers as a hobby which is also fine too00 Reply
m 1 yI think it’s the guys you know or are meeting, pretty much everyone I know (me included) has some form of hobby, interest, pursuit.

If you have hobbies n interests, try finding guys into the same
Asker1 yAll my hobbies are pretty woman dominated, clay art, gardening, baking, and sewing but I’ll give it a try
Anonymous(30-35)1 yMaybe they’re busy or just enjoy relaxing. Maybe you need to try doing things with a guy and see if he likes it.
plenty of dudes go to the gym. Whatever most dudes have some sort of hobby

Anonymous(36-45)1 yProbably because women have told us that having hobbies, at least hobbies that women approve of, gives them the ick. Bottom line, we are done trying to please the opposite sex.
Asker1 yI don’t think that’s the case because if men truly embraced themselves and ignored the fake “women who hate men with interests” they would be doing things they love and have more hobbies instead of less
Opinion Owner1 yWe are doing the things we love, we just aren't showing you. And you can disagree all you like, but until you see things frlm a man's perspective, you're unqualified to speak on it.
Asker1 yNot sure how men expect to actually connect with anyone if they hide anything remotely interesting about themselves but you do you
Opinion Owner1 yIt's simple, when women make fun of us for our hobbies, or put us down for our hobbies. We tend to just do our own thing. You're a woman, it's unlikely you will ever understand this.
Thankfully iarried someone that encourages my hobbies, which I have a few, and some we share.
Asker1 y@spartan55 I’ve never heard of either gender being rejected for a hobby unless they were into anime porn or something? Tons of women like nerdy men and I'd you have trouble finding girls like that just find girls who are just as nerdy
Opinion Owner1 yThat's my point though, women rarely if ever face rejection, men live and breathe rejection. I can tell you at least two dozen times I've been rejected because of both my job and my hobby.
You're not a man, so you never see it.
Opinion Owner1 yExactly. It's like even when we tell the truth they don't believe us.
Asker1 yI never said it doesn’t happen I just said I've never heard of it? As a woman kind women don’t reject men over stuff like that. Have you ever thought maybe you choose shitty mean women? it’s like when women say all guys are players it’s the choice of choosing players. Men choose superficial mean women then get shocked when they’re rude
Opinion Owner1 yNah I didn't pick a superficial mean one. I picked one that supports me.
