Is this a red flag?

This guy I have been dating for a few months calls me constantly. If I don’t get to the phone to answer the first time he calls, he calls again two hours later and if I don’t pick up that time he calls again maybe 30 minutes later and when I do finally pick up he questions me about what I was doing and why I didn’t answer when he first called. It could be innocent but it seems kind of controlling.

That annoys the shit out of me too. Have the 'I'm not akways available' talk with him. Don't expect him to read your mind and know it's irritating you. If he starts the where were you who were you with shit just don't answer him.

I have. I literally work over nights and he knows this so I sleep through the day and he still calls me like crazy when he knows I’m sleep

Then he thinks that just because I watch is Instagram story from time to time that means I should answer his call (s) every time but that’s what social media is for. To watch stories and interact. It’s not much deeper than that, at least not for me. He literally texted me after he FaceTimed and called while I was showering and couldn’t get to the phone. The text read “You can look at my Instagram stories but not answer my calls.” And I just feel the two doesn’t even correlate.
