Crossing paths with previous hook up?

I frequently cross paths with a previous hook up. I believe the first few times right after the hook up were very purposeful and intentional by him. I don’t try to make it obvious that I see him, And he does the same….. in the day light. When it happened last it was night time and there was enough street lighting that I still knew it was him across the street. Since it was pretty dark once he passed and about a minute had gone by I decided to look back and I caught him with his neck twisted around back at me. So when it’s obvious daylight he doesn’t look back and when it might be too dark to make out it’s him he looks back at me…. i don’t get it
