Is this a red flag?

So there's this guy , we've been texting for a while now. He asks me to send a selfie and after I do, he asks if iv done something different with my hair and after I tell him that it was just a slight change of style he says he doesn't like it at all

What is "a while"? Have you gone on dates or anything? It isn't that it matters much but I am just trying to get an idea as to why he would be so bold as to insult you for changing your hair style. See he could have done that a lot more tactfully. He is entitled to his opinions but instead of saying "I don't like it" he could have said something like "I really liked the way you were wearing it before". It isn't the best thing to say either way but there is a difference. I would view it as a red flag. You are allowed to have your own style dictated by how you like to see yourself and what you think makes you look good. So is he. I would be worried that this sorta thing would get deeper the further you go and that possibly he would start to dictate how you do your hair and many other things.

We haven't gone on a date yet, we met on a dating app and it's been a few weeks since we are talking. That's exactly my point because he hasn't even met me and he's bold enough to insult me like this

Once we had an argument of some sort and he just ended up making me feel like all of it was my fault

Since he is obviously unable to take accountability and, as I mentioned before, controlling, you will have to decide whether or not to take this further. However, be warned that doing so could eventually lead to physical violence because all of the above indications are assertive and will eventually show signs of violence. Well, that's been my experience.

All the more so, then. He has his preferences for how you do your hair- as you would for his, if guys changed their hair's positioning like women do- and you're concerned this his honesty is a BAD thing? Would you prefer he lie?
