Why do boys like to spam messages?

Why do some boys like to spam chat? I just met this guy yesterday on an online platform. We exchanged messages, and when I didn’t reply for several hours, he sent me multiple messages like, 'Hey, are you there?' 'Are you busy?' 'Are you working?' and so on. Why does he does that?

Don't forget that those guys on dating sites and other social media that have hooked a girl are almost always attempting to get into the girls' pants.

Since a lot of them are not being very good at conversing, girls tend to space their answers and that is when those guys are trying to revive those dead conversations with those kind of short messages in a desperate attempt to bring the girl (s) to continue to chat with them.

I find it pathetic and is a mirror of their lack of originality when attempting to hit on a girl.
