Guys, why go back?

So I’m just trying to get the male view cause as a female I am confused as to why someone would go back. I had this f-buddy, known him for about 5 years. We used to be f-buddies in the past. Anywho we resume things last year. He told be he was a year single and that his previous girlfriend had done him dirty. He spilled the beans turns out she faked a whole pregnancy. She kept telling him she was preggos and that he had a baby but would not give any proof during pregnancy like face time during ultrasound visit, proof like hospital docs, pictures of said baby. Per him, his family got involved and discovered there was no baby. When his friends and family would question her she would block them on everything. Per him, his family dislikes like and his girls cousin wanted to beat her up. He said he would never go back to her, turns out a week ago he went back to her. So I’m just confused as to why a man would go back given everything that were down. For reference I am 30, he is 38, and the ex is 28.

Same a reason a lot of women go back to men who treat them like garbage. He’s an idiot. Maybe he’s an idiot who actually loves her. Maybe she gives up some good pussy, good head game. Maybe he was just lonely at the time. Maybe he was drunk, was horny, so called her up. Maybe he’d rather be w someone who treated him like shit but would rather be w someone than being alone. I know when something similar happens to me I went back to the girl. But not cause I loved her or wanted to get back in a relationship w her. I was just drunk. Not too far down the street from her. Back in country from deployment. Called her up, she said to come over. So I did. I treated her like a porn star that night. That was that then I left.
