Do you think he just want sexting or do I self sabotage?

So I met a guy in different city from bumble (traveling is not a problem for us), I was very clear only looking for hook up, and I told him I’m really not into and won't do sexting so just a quick hook up. I went to his place and after we hooked up he was surprised that I was leaving, asked for 5 more mins, got me water etc and ended up talking for 2 more hours. Constantly checking on me until I arrived back safely then I left him on read after that.

Couple days later he texted me again twice, each time he texted I joke if he met another girl, both time he said yes but only for drinks so I just told him, glad he had a good time, too bad he didn’t bring her back to his place.

He asked me why is it bad? Why am I always in the mood? (Don’t know what he means) but I told him I just like to tease him, it’s fun. Then I sent a photo of hickey from him said it was great, asked for a dick pic from him and when he sent I said I missed it which he replied “but you never ask to meet me again when you were here” so told him maybe we’ll meet again someday, who knows. He wanted to continue the photo but told him im going to sleep and won't send any more pic

He never texted me again, two days later I texted him again but he was being cold and just reply with a word or two. Told him I might come again to his town next week for work, and he said he might not be there. Thats the last time we text.

do you think since the begining he just text me for sexting? Or am i self sabotaging and miss a chance to get know a genuine guy? Im going to his city again next week, should I text him?

I suspect he was only sexting. Forgetting to reply is one thing, but he's clearly following your initial boundaries. That's all it is. Someone truly interested would reach out, especially if they were feeling the energy. People text long lost contacts for hookups or to fill a void when they're unsuccessful elsewhere. I'd move on and stop overanalyzing.

Hard to know some guys act like they want somtihg serious while they don't, he might have wanted something serious or he may have wanted you to be his love string puppy but him being only interested in sex, some guys are into it making the woman love him to feed their ego but not wanting anything more than some sex / sexing it depend on the person.
