How should guys react if one of their friends is making lewd/sexual remarks on their female friends/colleagues?

I have this one old friend of mine who I recently introduced to a female friend from my uni. Now this guy is a bit lonely and sexually frustrated and he was quite struck by her the moment he met her.

After that he kept texting me about how she was the nicest girl he had met and how extremely polite she was to him etc. He continued texting about her this time wth a more sexual tone. He would say things like "I can't sleep at night as I keep thinking about her body." "I wonder how it would feel to play with that perfectly toned body of her."

Now his texts are pure pervy fantasy. His last texts read; "Her sexy p*ssy is probably a dark cave by now with all the action she gets."

Now I must say that this girl is not my girlfriend and so I initially ignored these weird texts about her. But now it's getting too weird. Also this girl is actually a really good friend of mine and she has helped me a lot many a times. So what do I do? Ofcourse she probably will never meet him and I'll ensure he keeps his distance but when it comes to his pervy texts about her, should I just ignore it or confront him?

You have to set meaningful boundaries for yourself. If you don’t want his creepy texts, tell him to knock it off.
It’s 2025, women have fought for decades for the right to their independence from the patriarchy. That means that they don’t want daddy or big brother solving their problems anymore. Or so they say.
If he creeps on her and she asks for your help, if you then feel compelled to help, do so. Otherwise, stay out of it. How she lets others treat her is entirely her choice. Just like you, she must set her own meaningful boundaries, and enforce them.

It's the morally right thing to tell him to cut it out and say it's weird.
Would he say any of these things to her face? If he wouldn't, therein lies the substance behind his behaviour - a core lack of respect and covert indecency.

I hope neither he nor you wonder why he is the way he is because it seems to be crystal clear from this alone.

I've not seen his sort of behaviour from other women or the "female equivalent" so to speak but I would have no problem in setting things clear and being out of bounds if I were faced with this dilemma because it's disgusting behaviour no matter who it's coming from.

There are women who I've completely cut off based on how they treat other people particularly men, and have had no qualms about it. Putting up with is signalling "this is fine, there's nothing wrong with it". When there is. Cull it at any opportunity.

Ugh! He's so disgusting. Honestly... if I were you, I'd tell him to stop that crap as she's my friend and I find it disrespectful that you keep talking about her like that. Stay away from her.

You should put a stop to this, not just because he shows lack of respect for her but also because his creepy perverted comments are making you feel weird too. You need to set a boundary.

That is truly disgusting in my opinion , and personally I couldn’t help but react instantly. This type of behavior should never go un- checked , saying nothing is basically equal to saying it’s ok ! , and let’s be clear it’s very far from ok


Your adoration / respect for this girl as a fellow , hopefully decent person , putting aside how much of a friend she has been to you , surely compels you to put him right on the fact that it’s never “ok” to judge or objectify any woman or person like that.


Sure the odd ‘lewd ‘ remark in certain circumstances is often tolerated but everyone should hold themselves to being a more respectful and decent person.

I once threatened to electrocute a rapist, he pissed himself and I wasn't touching that but did say if I heard his name again in such a case then I'd finish the job
