Male and female mate selection criteria are different. Women do care about guy's income but men don't care about women's income. IQ is a good predictor of likely earning capacity so women are selecting for it..

Given strong female desire for these attributes, it almost certain that a guy will end up paired with a woman that isn't as smart as he is.

All the more so, because just as men don't care how much women earn, we also don't care how intelligent she is. There are far more important attributes to us.

So it is not that men like stupid women, it is more that we don't care. We're happy to provide the smarts in a relationship.

Nope, I like deep discussions. I met a stupid girl last year, I was already dumbing things down. She got mad at me for interrupting her when she left 3 second pauses to think in a way that made it seem like she was finished speaking. And she couldn't handle me explaining some basic computer things and wanted me to just tell what I was gonna do with 90% of the info cut down. Her getting mad at me just being me because she couldn't keep up was the last time we talked. Lost all interest entirely.

There's a saying in my old environment stating (translated) ''Dumb shags well'' - and there is some truth to it.

When I look at the condition of the present century, I can't really discover un-dumb people (in terms of life visions or depth). Well... a very few are there to be fair.

So... it's not the overall 'level' but rather the brainpower DIFFERENCE that should be looked at here.

My own dilemma: I only know two women who are smarter than me. And both are 'taken'.
