Guys, Do you think it's cheating? Can I ever trust him again?

My boyfriend went to work at a summer camp and he confessed to me that he cuddled and fell asleep with another girl. I broke up with him because he broke my trust but he said he doesn't think what he did was cheating, but realized what he did wrong later after it happened. He explained to me why he did it and why it has nothing to do with me, etc. but I just want some insight on why a guy would do this... I'm having trouble believing it all and it doesn't make sense to me. We dated for almost 3 years. I don't know if I would ever take him back, even though we really love each other.

How could he cuddle with another girl and confess about it. He's trying so hard to normalise it. Ask about the situation how he got into it. If she's still in contact with him. You mentioned it's 3 years relation. So you'd have to think twice. But he's definitely broke your trust. It doesn't make him good just because he confessed.

He explained the whole situation to me, I agree it doesn’t make it right. Our history makes me question if I made the right decision to let go but he’s broken my trust, and it’s not the first time he’s done so. He said he would never kiss or have sex with another girl (which to my knowledge, he hasn't done) but I don’t see how I can repair my trust with someone who does something like this.

You got to remember that cuddling with a girl is considered as intimacy as well. It's not done by accident. He felt her instead of turning her away. There he says... "I do these things every now and then but won't call them intimate". Now you decide.

Thats how I was feeling about it…I just started to question if I was overreacting and maybe we could repair it but it’s something that I view as very intimate and a very deliberate decision.
