Do men actually like helping or protecting women?

Was in an activity where we were blindfolded. I was nearly bumping into the wall. A guy I didn’t know well came up to me, and said “I’m going to hold your hand and guide you back now, okay”? And he did. Later, the same guy told me he would be my partner in an activity where we needed pairs and I didn’t have one. He said “you won’t be alone”.
I was so attracted to him after that. Maybe it’s because he was kind, and a bit of a protector? I don’t care what society says, it felt like the very wiring in my body responded to whatever he did.
I thought men didn’t like helping women, since I heard a lot of men in the past say they weren’t going to protect women anymore because it’s modern day. So I basically swore off men, because I thought they wouldn’t help me. Until this guy came along and reminded me what it feels like to have a masculine touch.
Thoughts?

Side note: I may have a crush on him now, I have such a thing for gentlemen.

It's the male equivalent of the maternal instinct. The protection instinct. The men that don't do it are that way because modern feminism has told them not too. I've seen this cycle a number of times. Back in the 80s, women decided they wanted a "sensitive man". Men tried as best they could to become women with penises. Guess what, women didn't want that. You ARE hard wired to want that, just as he's hard wired to do it. It would also seem he hasn't been burned by so many women that he's become cynical. This relationship may or may not work out, like any other, but seems like a good start to me.

to like something means that I get some sort of joy or excitement... and I don't get that out of others being in need, in trouble or in danger, as it is not a good thing to feel joy over, lmfao...

am I helpful and protective, yes... I can be

but that's just the right thing to do, and also to do with pretty much everyone that might need it, woman or not

I wouldn't do anything out of normal for a random women. When I have feelimgs or whatever in a girl, those desires may come up.
