Men express themselves honestly all the time. Women simply refuse to listen in earnest. Partly because we don’t express ourselves in the same way as women, and women assume that means we’re doing it wrong or not at all. Another factor is that men are taught to fix problems, not cry about them. When a man is doing something, he is often expressing himself. That stoicism isn’t an act, it’s a necessity. Contrary to what they say, women don’t really want a man to express himself. As soon as he does, she either makes it about herself or she weaponizes it against him the next time she’s angry. Men don’t get results by crying. They get replaced. Men get results by doing. There’s nothing wrong with that. When men really need to talk, they have to talk to other men. Women won’t understand. They rarely even honestly try. Every grown man with more than a little bit of experience with women knows “talk to me” is a trap. Men understand men’s problems. More importantly, men understand men’s solutions. We know when to listen, when to help and when to kick a brother in the butt and tell him to suck it up. Women don’t get that and that’s okay.
We are expected to be tough and not vulnerable. Also males that express feelings can be made fun of or bullied at school, so we learn to keep our mouths shut about them.
That depends. If he's been with her... say 10 years. It might be ok to share a bit. But he should probably treat it like a swimming pool. Start by dipping a toe and seeing how it goes.

Because our purpose is to be the one that doesn't fall apart
Because there is plenty of toxic women who react badly to it
Because they don’t want to be considered as weak so they do it on purpose
Nothing good comes from a guy sharing his feelings.👍
Not even to his wife
