Why does he comment on other women in front of me? What is the difference between: pretty, sexy, hot, etc?

I have been dating this guy for a few months and we have already said “I love you”. I have noticed he constantly comments on the appearance of other women. LITERALLY, EVERY TIME we talk I have to hear about how hot his ex, adult film stars, celebrities, and other random women are. The other day he made a comment about there being a difference between labeling a woman “hot”, “pretty”, “gorgeous”, “beautiful”, and “s3xy”. In his terms, he classified "hot" as the best a woman can get; he then put "pretty" at the bottom of the list and said “pretty” means the woman is “alright looking” he then quickly corrected himself and said pretty means “she looks good”. I noticed when he comments on my appearance, he calls me "pretty" or "s3xy". I cannot tell if he is truly attracted to me or has a different motive entirely. When I asked him about his comments, his response was “I love you, don’t worry about it” and he started talking about how hot another girl is. Everything he says he physically wants in a woman’s body does not apply to me. We have yet to be physically intimate, but I know there is no way I can live up to his expectations.

I guess my questions are why would a guy date a girl that does not live up to his standard of feminine beauty? What is the difference between “pretty”, “s3xy”, “gorgeous”, “beautiful”, and “hot”? And, is it a bad thing that he comments on how hot a woman is right in front of me?

He sounds confused himself. That's kind of off putting to be commenting about other women in front of you, besides being rude and mean.

Personally, those words don't exemplify an attractive scale nor are they permanent fixtures once placed. It's rather I choose to describe a girl by her overall appearance.

I'll give you some examples. Emma Watson is cute for me, Adriana Lima is beautiful, Paula Patton is hot, and Olivia Wilde is sexy. Could be though that in certain pictures or moments that I think they're something else. So it's not a huge deal at all.

When it comes to describing a person of interest though, I think beautiful is an intimate word and sexy is mainly about the physical aspects.

He seems to be only into the physical side of dating, so to speak, and this isn't a guy who is ready for a more long lasting or meaningful relationship imao. Guys who go about rating women don't know how to relate to them unless they are just joking or talking to their buddies...

He feels bad that he's not physically attracted to you because he does "love you" as like a person or whatever.. You and him should only be friends and stop putting off the inevitable break up/cheating scenario.
