How Important Is Your Social Support For You To Lose Weight?

My weight loss journey started about two months ago. Since my body type is endomorphic, I had to put in extra effort, be it eating vegetables, fruits, lean meat, sipping detox drinks, drinking water or exercising. During my weight loss journey what I have realized is that sometimes what matters the most is your social support. You want to lose weight and opt for a healthier lifestyle but people around you will eat pizza, burgers, spicy food, ice cream, cakes, drink a little more or even mock you if you pick up your detox drink to take a sip. On top of this, you will be bombarded with opinions, suggestions and even be told that they never gained any weight even when they ate pizza for all meals!

This continuously bogged me down until I met a friend who lost about 20 pounds in 2 months. I started to discuss my meal plans and exercise routines with her. I also started going to Zumba classes and never have I felt so energetic in my entire life! I made some more friends at the Zumba class and we started hanging out and making healthy choices even when we ate in a restaurant. It was also at this time that my jeans started to become lose but when I checked my weight, there was not much difference. My Zumba trainer told me that it was because I was burning fat but also building lean mass. Which is good news, because building lean mass is crucial for those who want to get a toned body.

Now that I am on track and never miss my workout routine or eat what others eat, I am sure I will reach my weight loss goal soon. To think of it now, I would say that it is very important to know few people who lead a healthy lifestyle. Talk to them and get suggestions from them. You can even watch youtube videos to learn how to perform a squat with precision or learn to dance! You will get inspired and feel great once you witness your body transform.

Hope this will help those who are continuously being bogged down by minimum or no social support. If I could do it, you can do it too ;)
