It's personal and I need answers to my big problem that makes me insecure and shy!?

So when I was a baby i got this bad infection that made the doctors concerned so they made me have a surgery as a baby! Without it I wouldn't be here! But anyways the scar makes me very insecure. It 2in above my belly button and its about 15cm vertically and it makes me very sad that i won't get accepted or stand out to much. My friend invited me to her pool party I really wanna wear a bikini like my other friends but i don't know if I'm ready to face it. I've never worn a bikini my whole life! I'm in shape but i never show it because of it (: its my biggest secret! what would u do if u had a scar would u show it to the world or just stay wearing tankinis all your life? Please help i need answers!

You could use unrefined coconut oil on it several times a day, it may help smooth it out. I have horrid burns on my forearm (2nd and 3rd degree) and I use coconut oil on them religiously, and they are much lighter than they were. Although this isn't a quick fix. If I were you, I'd rock that bikini! Sure you have a scar on your tummy, but like you said, if you didn't have that scar, you wouldn't be here today to show it off!!

You should be proud of your scar. It made you who you are, right? There are a lot of nasty people out there too. I have a scar on my forehead from where a large bump was removed. I imbrace the scar because at least I don't have a huge bump, right? And in your case the scar kept you alive, so why not imbrace it? Hope this helps

If your body would be got without the scar, it'll be hot with the scar, and vice versa.

I would wear the bikini. You may be asked about it but you just tell the truth. In my experience people accept that and don't really treat you differently because of it. You will have yo accept that you may get a couple of people looking at it though.

Don't wear it if you're not ready to share it. Be comfortable and if they make fun of you for not wearing one, just tell them "well, why aren't you wearing a one piece/tankini"? It'll throw them off a little bit.
