+1 ySuicidal thoughts, even cutting can lead to to something bigger. If one of your friends cracks a joke about death or something... There is a possibility he/she has a depression. If you have a depression, instead of cutting, use a red marker or lip balm... instead of drugs, exercise (Runners High). instead of keeping everything inside, Vent or write a rap... I'm pretty public about what I write as i'm venting. (You can look at my profile for a link). Anyways thinking about death and such may not be severe today, but it can hurt you tomorrow.

+1 yI suffer from depression and severe panic attacks, I know were your coming from, I have suicidal thoughts most of the time, but I couldn't actually kill myself. I don't think you will kill yourself, cause like myself your depression is not that to the point of wanting to kill yourself.
This is time 6 months ago, I really did feel like killing myself it was a horrible feeling. So I don't think you will, because you will just do it, without thoughts, so to speak.021 Reply
Asker+1 yThank you for the relateable comment. :) Makes me feel a bit better.

no problem, don't worry about it I always those thoughts. I think most the time, its habit way of thinking. You are in habit of thinking like that. But if you do feel really bad, its best to tell someone, or call your doctor asap.

Good with the therapy, I Had CBT therapy is was really good, it helped me a lot. Its good your dad, looking after you.
Asker+1 yI didn't even realize my thoughts were abnormal until yesterday. Sometimes I find it is hard to tell what is my depression and what is normal.
- +1 y
well your brain is not realising the feel good chemical serotonin, thats why you feel terrible. Well if you think bad things, like suicide, not wanting to wake up, is do with your depression. The reason, you don't know the difference, is because thats all you know.
- +1 y
Its to be honest its a very good step that you realize your thought are not normal, at least you know, that you shouldn't be thinking those thoughts. Try and force to execise, its the best thing for depression, and try keep yourself busy, to distract your thoughts.
- +1 y
You should seek professional help, to learn how to manage those thoughts. Have a diary for yourself, write down what feel you, and when you those bad thoughts are, and see if you notice a pattern, and when they occur? and see what spefically triggers them. A diary will help you.
Asker+1 yYes I do find exercise helps a lot and I am definitely trying to keep busy. It is much easier to do in the school year than on summer break though.
Asker+1 yI am actually planning on starting a diary tonight. I thought it would also be good for the therapist to see.
- +1 y
It will help you a lot if you have a diary about the way you think and feel, and why? and time these thoughts occured. See if you can notice a pattern. Its might help you understand yourself more.
- +1 y
thats good, cause thats what I do, with my therapist.
Asker+1 y:) thank you

try your best, to eat frest organic foods. The saying goes, If we feed it crap, we will feel like crap. If we treat it like the Cadillac we borrowed for the night, it will return the kindness.

Panic attacks are the worst. I'm sorry to hear you have them. I eventually overcame my panic disorder but it was very tough. The pain is unbearable. Hope you get it under control.
- +1 y
thanks join, I have control of them to the point they are bearable now. At times they can be very frightening. They are horrible things. They are gradually going away tho.
Yes those are suicidal thoughts. That's where it starts. For now, it's just imagining. If this continues, one day you may put them into action. You should tell your parents so that they realise more drastic action is needed to help you.
I went to counselling with a minister when I was having suicidal thoughts. It helped me a lot. I suggest you see a counsellor/psychologist to help you with the depression.
Feel free to message me if you like, I have been where you are at right now.029 Reply
Asker+1 yThank you so much. :) I really appreciate it.
Asker+1 yNo the therapist I went to said I didn't have clinical depression. I don't know how this could be anything else though.
- +1 y
Serotonin plays a role in both anxiety and depression. Therefore antidepressants are also helpful in treating anxiety, plus they may knock any depression on the head. I myself have had severe anxiety and moderate depression.
Anxiety still requires treatment, but I think you may have developed depression as well since you last saw your therapist.
Asker+1 yI asked my mom to get me a different therapist like three months ago and have asked about it three times since then and still have not gotten the help I have asked for. I think I am going to try asking my dad though. Thank you for all the advice.
- +1 y
Tell your parents you need to sit down and have a serious discussion with them, when they have a spare hour. Then when you do talk to them, explain what you've been thinking and feeling - everything, as hard as it is to do. Then ask about seeing a different therapist, and make direct eye contact with your dad when you ask.
Asker+1 yThank you :)
Asker+1 yNo I haven't.
Asker+1 yI have another question. I hope you don't mind. Do you think wishing you were never born and wishing you wouldn't wake up after you have fallen asleep means anything?
- +1 y
When I used to wish I had never been born, it meant that I regretted that I had ever lived. I felt like I had never been any good to anybody and that I had always been completely useless and always would be useless.
Wishing you wouldn't wake up means that you want to die naturally without pain, without your family being upset that you committed suicide. But it still means you wish you were not here. I have felt the same in the past.
The truth is, I have made good impacts on other people's lives, I have made decisions which I think have helped and inspired others, and I have been there for people when they need me. When I reflect on this, I realise that it was good that I was born.
I have many hopes of things I can do in the future (Occupational Therapy, running a rehabilitation and training centre, adopting children, and more) so I also came to realise that I will not be useless in the future either.
Asker+1 yThank you this was really helpful :)
Asker+1 yNo problem. :) I definitely will.
Asker+1 yNot yet. The lady at the hospital who books the therapy appointmenst has been out of the office so my dad is just waiting for her to come back. :)

Asker+1 ypretty good I think. I have been writing in a journal every night which is something different for me. Had some rough patches but I think I have been pretty good in general though.
Asker+1 yI am going to be learning to make pottery and I am going to do yoga classes this school year :) I am excited.
Asker+1 yMy dad finally got me an appointment. It is for sept.11 :)
Asker+1 yoh my... I hope that doesn't jinx the appointment. :p
Yes, that would be considered suicidal thoughts. Please, get help. It's not worth it to live like this. If you absolutely don't want to get help, at least look at some websites on why not to commit suicide. Your still alive, there's time left to make a change.

+1 yYeah, those are suicidal thoughts. Even if you believe you wouldn't do it because you're rational enough to know that it isn't going to make things better, your feelings about it can still gradually change if you think more and more about suicide. Negatives thoughts aren't healthy.

+1 yI'm sorry to hear you are struggling with depression. Even people with all the money in the world can suffer from crippling depression. The best advice I can give you is to spend time with friends who make you laugh and smile. Maybe try doing things for family members you care about. What keeps me going is my little siblings. Nothing makes me happier than buying them some toy or game and making their day.

Anonymous(36-45)+1 yYes, these are suicidal thoughts. Are you getting help? If not, these thoughts will get worse and something just might occur, God forbid.
Wishing you were never born and not to wake up, is a stage of depression but I wouldn't say that these are considered suicidal thoughts.

Asker+1 yI asked my dad to get me a therapy appointment and he said I should have asked him sooner and he would book it on Wednesday. Thank you for the advice and the concern.
Opinion Owner+1 yYou're welcome. Best of luck to you.
Anonymous(36-45)+1 yThey are but you are reasonable and seem to be able to keep enough faith that tomorrow may be better. It really may be better. I thought of suicide for 10 years straight and made it ok. If you want to ask me anything go ahead and I will try to help you in any way I can.

Opinion Owner+1 yYou are quite welcome
Opinion Owner+1 yAlso make sure your sleeping and eating habits are good. Bad sleeping habits can greatly contribute to one's well being.
Yes i believe those are. People who commit suicide tend to make an impulsive decision before doing so. Be sure to contact someone for help immediately whenever you feel the urge to do something to yourself.

Asker+1 yThanks for the answer. My parents know of my depression... Not sure I want to mention this too them until I really know what is going on.
Asker+1 ythank you. I will message you the word hi as I am on anonymous so if you ever want to talk you can message me as well.
Anonymous(30-35)+1 yI've been through this before. A lot of people go through a time where they really realize how capable they are of things. They know that they could kill themselves and make such a large impact and end things so quickly. So you know you're not going to do it, but you do realize that you could and thats what scares you. You're strong person, you're not gonna do it.

Asker+1 yI don't know what there is to say really... I have depression and often wish I was never born... Sometimes I think about ways I could die but do not intend to try although sometimes it sounds like a good idea. I don't particularly care that I am alive, If I were to get hit by a car or something and died I would not care but once again I have no intention of actually killing myself.
- +1 y
Dont worry i know the feeling. I probably understand u more than anyone else but what makes u feel this way?
Asker+1 yNo idea to be honest. There isn't usually a direct cause. Although at night time when I'm laying in bed trying to sleep is when it is the worst because it is probably when my mind is most active. hyperboleandahalf.blogspot.ca/.../...pression.html this even though looks to be a silly cartoon is very real for me except for the ending obviously.
- +1 y
Haha this is funny x)
U don't know the reason to as of why ur sad or depressed? Might consider taken anti-depressant pills.
Asker+1 yI've been to a therapist and wasn't diagnosed with clinical depression. She said it just seems to be stress and anxiety. So I don't know. I asked my mom to book me an appointment with a different therapist and never did.
- +1 y
So.. i suppose ur shy and dont have many friends? Maybe less than 3?
- +1 y
Key is definitely a good dude to share your thoughts with.
Asker+1 yI have three friends and a boyfriend. But I get very anxious in a room full of people I don't know, Put me in a really busy small gift shop and I have a panic attack. I used that example as it as happened a few times.
- +1 y
Sumthing happen in ur past that makes u fear of people i guess. I must have been trauma that has a big impact on ur life.. what makes u fear of ppl? U think they're gonna misjudge u? Thats why ur afraid?
Asker+1 yI know I just don't like the idea of worrying her and becoming a burden.
Asker+1 yI've never had a self esteem. I can't even remember liking myself as a child. I don't know what the root of it is though. I honestly don't know what makes me so afraid... If I am actually attempting to socialize it is the fact that I don't think they will like me.
Asker+1 yI know you're right doesn't mean I like it though :p ugh
- +1 y
Thats cuz ur thinken only the negative side of urself. U nvr look at the brightside of urself and that is why u need to see a therapist and they will show u all the positivity that u have in urself. They can help u stop thinken negatively. Everyone is born differently so its ok to think and go ur own way but keep in mind that everyone dont think the same as u do. If u automatically assume negativity about urself, others will find u a good person and look beyond ur negative image. Get up the confidence and walk the earth. there's so much to explore out there =-)
Asker+1 yI'm trying and my boyfriend actually helps a lot as I tell him everything. He gets me outside of my comfort zone and has gotten me through all the times I wanted to hurt myself as there was a point in time where I would have done it if it wasn't for the fact that I promised him I wouldn't. I am going to ask my dad to get me a therapist.
Asker+1 yThere I just asked my dad... My parents are divorced so I had to text him. waiting for a response now.
- +1 y
Thats good that ur bf is encouraging u to grow and get out of ur comfortzone. If u keep pouring all ur emotional needs on him, he might eventually grew tired of it one day and might leave u so its not a good habit of urs. Get helped dealing with ur depression and be happy! Afterall.. if no one accept u, there will also be others who will accept u. Thats why there's good and bad people mix in this world.
Asker+1 yI asked my dad and he said I should have asked sooner and will get me an appointment on Wednesday.
- +1 y
Thats good! Goodluck out there ;3
Asker+1 ythank you guys :)
