you should never go under 1200 calories. On 500 calories yes you will lose weight, at first! how can you not it's all about calories in and out, but do you care how you are going to feel? well, leightheading, tired all the time, irritable, don't forget hungry! can't think clearly and the list goes on. now your metabolism goes all out of order, your electorlytes and hormones are out of wack. Surely you continue with this diet, your skin gets bad, your hair starts falling out, and your nails get brittle hm how attractive is that? sometimes you can get a skinny fat look hm why b.c. you are losing weight too fast. How long can you stay on this diet? doubt that long. Now you are eating say even normal don't binge ( which I doubt) , what happens now? your metabolism was on starvation mode was holding on and trying to survive on this low calorie diet, now you got food and your body will store this food as fat just incase you starve it again. Our bodies are prettyyy smart and know how to adapt. So is this diet worth it in the long run? you decide.
What makes you lose weight and your body working with you and helping you lose it, is eating every three hours, giving your body the fuel let it work and burn calories as you digest healthy food ( like protein and vegies your body works hard to digest them so burns cals). Eat every 3 hours like I said, 300 cal each. or 3 meals and a snack atleast. Don't ever go hungry if you get the hungry feeling, and please the whole eat breakfast thing is extremely important you start of this fat burning once you start your day with food your stomach start digesting and working. and ofcourse working out , resistance training especially once you have muscles they burn calories at rest resulting in more calories burned throughout the day.

it is definitely not healthy to do so. I had a friend who went on this diet, yes she lost a significant amount of weight but she couldn't do anything while she was on the diet-she couldn't go to work, she wasn't energetic, she just looked really ill and it's just unhealthy-why?-because it's a huge shock to your system (your metabolic processes slow down to conserve energy so it's countering the goal you set to lose weight-your body would adapt to gaining weight as opposed to losing it because your body is in 'survival' mode or energy conserving mode-more fat is conserved) and some people might not make it with just 500 calories per day.-i agree with anonymous that you should find your daily caloric intake and reduce it by 500 calories-that's more realistic. I'd strongly advise going to a doctor and asking and I am sure that all the scientific minds out there will tell you that it is not a healthy way and there have been no long term studies done on this diet and furthermore based on what we know, it's more harmful than helpful.
why not start eating low calorie foods, drinking lots of water and hitting the gym? that's what I do-there isn't any short cuts to losing weight other than by-pass surgery if you are on the extreme level. losing weight at a slow and moderate pace is much healthier. look at health food store supplements that are natural and help speed up your metabolism also. I hope this helps
Only if you want to feel extremely fatigued, light headed and the list goes on. What exactly do you want to achieve? Because if its weightloss, you should NEVER go lower than 1000 calories
find out what you are Normally eating and take out 300-500 calories off that and that's ur number.
the diet you are talking about is probably as bad as them african kids eating bugs and grain. oor hell. they probably get more cals than you do to be honest if you take the 500 calorie road.
so never go under 1000 and don't take the "fastest" or "easiest" methods, or methods that SEEM to be too good to be true. they are 100% arent. its all about exercising REGULARLY and most importantly watching what you eat and how much. that's the hard part I guess for me too because I love eating but, switch to eating several meals a day and in short amounts and healthy foods.. but don't forget to get all ur vitamins and minerals and oh yeah
Lots of w a t e are . I'm not kidding here. whenever ur getting something to drink or feel hungry
drnk a glass of water instead. sometimes hungryness = thirsty but you don't know it lol
but always water. Always Water.
I tried it and really wouldn't suggest it. You'll lose probably a pound or two a day on average but as soon as you get off the diet your body will be so starved for calories, that it will latch onto whatever you eat, causing the weight to come right back. You're also always tired on that diet.

The solution in your case is exercise; diabetes severely limit's a person's ability to lose weight through methods that limit caloric intake.
Your diet focus needs to be on eliminating TYPES of food that you should not have and eating better foods.
Your weight issue can only be solved 2 ways: exercise or exercise. You will loose weight yes, but it won't be for long. You'll start to feel weak, forget things and then just go all out on food, then you won't be able to stop then gain the weight back. You'll do it over and over again. Its not worth it at all. Take it from someone who started dieting at 12. Just eat healthy and get out and move, do things that are fun and not boring and you'll be fine and happy! :) good luck!
ive done it, you lose weight quickly whilst on it but can't stay on it forever and the weight starts to come back. its better to do it gradually, then you can keep it off!
That is a horrible thing to do. Your body burns more calories every day than 500 calories (around 2000 for most people on average).
You'll really screw up your health if you do that. It will just make you weaker, mentally and physically.if you lay in bed and don't move a muscle then in a 24 hour period your body will burn (on average) 900 calories just keeping you alive so eating less than is definitely a bad idea!
Eating 500 calories a day is not healthy. When I was anorexic I ate 500 calories a day and I was very sick. To answer your question, yes. You will loose weight but much too quickly to be healthy. I suggest reducing your daily caloric intake to 1500 calories. You will loose weight slowly but safely.
Don't ever do a diet like this. You can seriously damage the body. We're talking serious organ failure. Baad idea.
I want to try it but I fear that I feel crappy if I try to do a diet.
i was on the 500 calorie a day diet, I call it the death diet, or ANOREXIA. seriously, eat 5 small, healthy meals a day and you're good
That would be a stupid thing to do.
How do you feel? Hunngry and your stomach hurts...
It sounds like a gimmick and well, dangerous.
You lose weight, but you feel like crap.
